M (wwwgoodreadscomprofilem) | 337 comments What is " EVOLUTION ", as defined by Charles Darwin?

1. The theory that all species of Life on Earth have evolved over time FROM COMMON ANCESTORS, WITH MORE COMPLEX ORGANISMS DEVELOPING FROM SIMPLEX ONES.

2. The theory that all species of Life on Earth have evolved over time, BUT FROM A FINITE NUMBER OF SEPARATE SOURCES ORGANISMS, BUT COMMON ANCESTORS.

3. The theory that all species of Life on Earth have evolved over time, WITH NO SPECULATION AS TO WETHER THEY CAME FROM COMMON ANCESTORS OR SEPARATE SOURCES.

M (wwwgoodreadscomprofilem) | 337 comments So, here's the result for the two first questions of our quizz about Charles Darwin.

1. "The concept of evolution as a theory for the development of species was generally accepted by the scientific community before his death in 1882." TRUE or FALSE ?

Both the general public and the scientific community came to accept the theory before his death, though his theory was not widely accepted until the 1930s.

2. " What is " EVOLUTION ", as defined by Charles Darwin?"

Charles Darwin believed that by a process called "natural selection" simple life-forms eventually evolved into the more complex forms.

M (wwwgoodreadscomprofilem) | 337 comments Among the members of Charles Darwin's family, who gave him a taste for science ? What other possibilities had he envisaged before choosing to be a naturalist ?
