I had a friend who gave me this book to borrow and have not yet read it. That was about 3 years ago. He was one of my best friends and he gave me a few books that I had to read as they were meaningful to him. Since then, we had a falling out and we really don't speak at all...which is really sad to me because he was a great friend. Anyways, I have had this book on my shelf and putting it off because I get upset thinking about this friendship that was lost. BUT..I'm still intrigued to see why he wanted me to read it.
Aww that sucks Jamie! :(I found this book in the bargain section of Barnes and Noble so I think I paid $4 for it. I just started reading it this afternoon...it was such a nice day for sitting outside and reading. I've gotten through the first three stories.
***Possible Spoiler***
A Good Man Is Hard To Find turned out to be a completely different story than I thought it was going to be. For some reason I thought it was going to be a love story. Not sure why I thought that.
Oh man, lol. Must have been a shock as it went on... Yeah, not really what one would call a love story!
I think I thought it was going to be a love story because of the title. So I thought a woman was having trouble finding a good man...but in a romantic way? haha I have no clue what I was thinking. I was very suprised how the story progressed! ***Spoiler***
I don't get why the grandmother or the children's mother didn't make a bigger commotion after the Misfit's men shot the father and son. The children's mother seemed to be in shock, but the grandmother kept talking to the Misfit.
**Spoiler**I thought she did kind of make a big deal about it. Plus, I'm sure they were all terrified. Not sure. I read it a while ago.
I'm not really enjoying these stories. It's starting to feel like a chore picking up the book. But I feel like I should like the stories because so many other people do.
