Jess | 3721 comments I've read up until Summer Knight. I really enjoyed the first 3, and then I don't know what happened. I really didn't like Summer Knight. I don't know if it was because I was under pressure to finish it for a challenge. But I really disliked it.

I'm on a mission to start and finish Death Masks. Good thing my bf has it so I don't have to worry about getting it returned to the library.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments This was one series I tried but couldn't get into it. But then was told to try again but do the audio book as James Marsters narrates. This did the trick, the books were much more interesting. I am now stalled at #6 waiting for my library to get the audio book in.

Archer I've loved the series since day one, Death Masks was one of the books that became a hard read and one that I had to force myself to finish but it was worth it. Cause the series just get's better.. I'm reading Changes right now.. And OMG

Melodie (melodieco) I read STORM FRONT when it first came out and REALLY didn't like it. I would have never tried them again if a friend hadn't insisted I try the 2nd one a couple of years later. I liked it! And then I loved GRAVE PERIL. It's still one of my favorites in the series. I didn't like SUMMER KNIGHT much and wasn't crazy about DEATH MASKS either, but since then there hasn't been a bad one in the bunch. I really liked the one where Harry was working on a porn movie set. And CHANGES is phenomenal! One of 2 books I've rated a 10 this year! The earlier books weren't available on audio for some time, but when STORM FRONT became available a few years ago I got it and it was even good when James Marsters read it.

Archer Yea I dont really know what to say so far about Changes.. Other than WOW..

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments So far I've only read the first one, but really enjoyed it. I also went the audio book route, and love Marsters! I have already downloaded fool moon so am excited to get it read this month.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 437 comments I just finished Blood Rites and it's my favorite of the series, by far. Harry working on a porn film - Priceless! I will say that this series took me a bit to get in to, even with the dulcet tones of James Marsters reading to me (I've gone the audiobook route), but I've loved the past couple of books and understand that they're all pretty strong from here on out. I've already bought the rest of the series on audio and am looking forward to carrying on, as I'm intrigued by the character development and back story we got in Blood Rites and am anxious to see where it takes Harry.

Sarah | 766 comments OMG! I'm just about to listen to Blood Rites, and I had no clue Harry was working on a porn set in it! I really can't wait now!

That's the one! I couldn't remember which one was on the porn set. Loved it!

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments So was listening to the audio of Storm Front (its on hold at the moment for Dead in the Family)....Marsters is doing a great job reading and while the story is interesting it's just not grabbing me.....I was on another fourm and someone said that the books pick up after the 3rd or 4th one....is this true?

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 101 comments I think so. Book 1 set up the world. Book 2 I found a chore, but book 3 onwards is great. I've got small favour to read for another challenge so I'll let you know how u found it

They do pick up as the series goes. I have been listening to them as well, and it does take until #3 before it starts to get really good. Now I wish I could get my hands on them faster.

The 3rd book is where it really starts to take off. In fact, GRAVE PERIL is still one of my favorites in the series. STORM FRONT is a chore, but Marsters does make it better and I even thought FOOL MOON was pretty good.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments Thanks Gem, Darcy and Melody....I will stick with it then ;-)

I'm glad to hear someone say that they had trouble with #2! I really enjoyed #1, immediatly downloaded the audiobook for Fool Moon, and have listened to the first half about 5 times and just can't get through the book! I'm really tempted to just skip the book and go on to #3! Anything really important happen that I shouldn't miss?

I read book 1 years ago and thought is was just ok and never gave more thought to the series until last year when I read some short stories in anthologies. I ended up reading book 4, then 3, then 5-7 before finding book 2. I thought 1 and 2 were just ok and kind of hard to get into. You can skip it as Butcher does a good job of telling you things you need to know that happened previously. You will probably want to go back an read it at a later date though.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments That's good news! Maybe I'll go ahead and download the audio for #3 and listen to that for the challenge this month then. Maybe I'll try #2 again some time in the future!

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments I gave up on the audio for the 1st book....I could not keep my attention on the book and kept missing stuff....will try again some other time.....did not seem like a bad book just could not keep my interest at the moment....
