ARE YOU A ONE BOOK AT A TIME READER?
Nope, I typically have 2-4+ books going at any one time. Perhaps a paperback in the car, a hardcover by the bed, at least two books on the Kindle and a book on the iPhone.

I am a 10 books at a time reader. And yes, I do manage to finish them all. I alternate between physical and e-books. That's the secret.
Sometimes I read one book at a time and then other times I may start a second book.
Nope I am usually reading 2-3 at a time. I usually have an electronic book on my phone on my kindle app and one hard copy book.

I have an iPhone & have no trouble using it to read with. I have Uncle Tom's Cabin open on iBooks now, & I really like it. I'm horribly nearsighted anyway, so I wish it was bigger, but I deal with it fine.
I am definitely a more than one at a time reader. Right now I have one on iBooks, plus a stack of real books. My stack is:The Age of Innocence-cute so far, I just started it today
Cartoon History of the United States-just for the fun of it, I also find it's a mental palate cleanser when I get bogged down in a longer, tougher to get through book.
The Woman in White-looking forward to getting into this one
Cannery Row-read Mice & Men & loved it, & this was the next choice for me because it's shorter than Grapes of Wrath :)

I just got iPhone 4GS - and love the apps with classic book downloads- very reader friendly
I have a Droidx smartphone that downloads Kindle, Amazon, and Audible.com, as well as Overdrive from my public library. So I always have at least one ebook, and one audiobook. The latter is to go to sleep to , or to knit to.The ebook is mostly if I'm travelling or on vacation.
Then I also have one print book on bedside table, and one print book in my backpack to read at lunch at work.
I like the way the classics are free to download, but I also will actually buy an ebook or audiobook if I really want to read it. I recently bought one of the #1 Ladies Detective Agency (Alex McCall Smith) and also The SHerlockian.
I also download print and audio books for free from PRoject Gutenburg (the most wonderful resource.)

Sometimes I cheat and skim through a book that just isn't holding my attention and can surprise myself by finding a moment that does hook my attention.
I read one book at a time because I usually get sucked into the story and it's like watching a movie unfold in my mind. I don't jump between movies, so I don't jump between books.
I also carry a book around with me wherever I go and even read during commercials when I get a really good book. I'm a book-o-holic and I love it!

No - i read like a dozen books at a time, not many times i've just concentrated on one book. As when i try to - i'm like a book magpie - ooohhh another book so i'm in the end always am reading a 3 book minimum - MINIMUM

I read a few books at a time. I'm too hyperactive and easily distracted to just stick with one.
Yes... reading two books at a time, can be done, much less three but then... I feel you don't give the writer justice and immerse yourself in one story. Sort of like, changing channels between TV shows or movies.
I tend to read different genres at the same time, like if I'm reading something bogged down in seriousness and I need a break I'll flick open something lighter, like the flick of a television channel. One episode there, another there. It's whatever takes my mood. Though, occasionally one book will get all my attention. I have one in particular at the moment that is really gripping and it's even taking my attention away from my own writing, which is a no, no as I have a deadline to make :)

I will tend to have several on the go if I am rereading them. When I am reading new ones, if it is one I like I tend not to put it down until I have finished it, so one at a time.
I'm always amazed at people who can read more than one book at a time; that would have made grad school a lot easier for me, but I'm a one book at a time person.

However, I put wayyy more value in my books than I do in TV for one, but like you, I just feel like I am not giving any one book a fair chance at my undivided attention.

I typically read as many as ten books at a time. No, I haven't been diagnosed with ADD but I'm easily bored. However, when I find myself reading one book exclusively, I slow down to savour it. If a novel can hold my attention, I know it's a good one and I want to make it last. It doesn't happen often that I'm entranced, but I'm hopeful every time I open a new book.

Robert- do you make sure that the 10 books are different genres? I usually read a current thriller, Classic,Historical Fiction, non-fiction book when I am reading multiple books

I have more than one book going at a time often, but it's usual for "circumstantial" reasons. One where I can sit and read, another (an audio) for where and/or when I can't sit and read. I may have a couple of audio books that I listen to in different places etc.
I always read more than one book, but there are few books that I have to read by itself. I am trying to understand audio books, but right now I just don't get them.
I seem to read 4 or 5 at at time and in different formats and love doing this. I always have an audio book going in my car. I have a book going on my ereader. I have a book I read at work on lunch. I keep a book by my bed and there are always a few more in progress floating around. I often get asked if I confuse characters and plots. Most of the time I don't, but recently 2 characters in 2 different books had same name. That was a little strange but it wasn't really a problem--just amusing.
I read more fiction than anything else. But can enjoy nonfiction if well written.

Multiple books for me. I try to read one at a time, but there's always another book that comes along and distracts me. I usually end up reading a few pages from each book a day.
In the past, I usually read one book at a time -- maybe a few, if I was lucky -- but now, I'm turning into a few-books-at-a-time reader. This is mainly due to the review books I've been getting from fellow authors, but I'm actually happy about the change. I've read some great books lately -- and I've read more than normal.
Normally I have three to four books I go back and forth on until one picks up close to it's climax. I'm currently reading Lord Edgware Dies by Agatha Christie, Skipping Christmas by John Grisham, and The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. Quite an eclectic bunch, but the contrasts in time-period and writing-style keeps it interesting for me.

I read two books at a time now. One on my ereader and one in paperback form.
I usually read a couple of books at a time. What I feel like reading tends to change with my mood.

quite the same- finishing up an international thriller- lots of action- now lookingfor a more sedate book!
Books, like lovers, should be caressed, enjoyed and devoured one at a time.

I am a one-book-at-a-time gal because I like to be 110% submerged in the world of whatever novel (usually historical) that I am reading. On those rare occasions when I find myself picking up a second book and starting it, if there is not a very particular reason (like I promised someone I would be done with it by X date) that is usually a sign that the book I started first is failing me in some way and may be one that I ultimately leave unfinished.
One at a time, I don't cheat on my reading, for shame to those who do, for shame, fickle folk that you are.
Almost always one at a time. The only time I will have more than one going is if I am losing interest in one and put it aside for a bit and read something totally different before I go back to it.I don't keep on with something I don't like, but will occasionally think it's more me than the book, so will go for a change of pace then try again before it goes to the DNF list.
More like three or four books at a time. It's a bad habit because in the end I finish none :( unfortunately.

We have three hundred paper-backs on our boat. So I think I'll go pull one of them out and dip into it. There are some favourites their, like Donna Tartt.
