I haven't seen it in more than 20 years. Gotta correct that. :)

Tonya (_tonya_) | 0 comments Dolly Parton, Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise! And a musical to boot! Love it!

I kept sneaking peeks at my newly-arrived copy of Drum. Does that count? :P

I want to get the movie soooooooooooo bad just for him! Worship that man! :) For now the book will have to do.

Love that one too. Also The Wild Bunch.

Jeanine sent me a blog post link about old romance covers and this was one of them:

Bitter Passion, Sweet Love by Patricia Ott

I think it qualifies as rare and HTF because I've got the last copy requested on PBS (pleaseacceptpleaseacceptpleasehavethebookohpleaseohplease)

and copies start at $82 on Amazon. Eek.

If I get it, I'll read and report...naturally! :)

Loved the blog! Nothing today even comes close to the older covers!

SmittenKitten | 189 comments I found Angelique and the Demon by Sergeanne Golon for $2 at the USB the other day... not extremely rare since there are a bunch on amazon for sell starting around $7.. but still, not a bad find!

I know the feeling... I'm the moron who paid a zillion dollars for Bound by the Heart!!!

Proprietary formats suck. :(

Sandi *~The Pirate Wench~* (thepiratewench) | 840 comments Mod
Im still holding out for the Wind & The Sea..Id rather have the "book"...but $3.00...cant go wrong there...but alas...no kindle :(

If you've ever Googled about how to hack Kindle format books, your eyes will cross. You have to mess around with some things in your computer that I don't want to even attempt.

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll stay tuned then!

I happened across this Ebay lot of 50 books (ends June 16th at 7:44pm Pacific). Lisa Kleypas' Where Passion Leads is included as well as a bunch of other older BRs and HRs.

The Kleypas book isn't mentioned anywhere, so searches won't pick it up.

Book lots like this is how my TBR got to be so massive. LOL

Whooops, I meant to post a link to the auction... :-B

Link

And this auction (ends June 12) has another old Onyx Kleypas (Love Come to Me).

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not bidding on it! I have too many in the lot already (and ain't that sad?)

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

After your shitastic birthday vacation? I'd say that you've earned an Ebay book lot.

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

Woot! You know what to do with dups that I don't have... ;-)

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

I've gotten WPL from Jennefer and it's in the TBR, so I won't need to be on this train.

(Wonder where Bitter Passion, Sweet Love by Patricia Ott is now on that reading train.....)

I'm guessing Karla and Wendy are on board - do I have any other takers?? If interested PM me your addy!"

Yeah, I'd sign up for reading that one. Eight years ago I had a copy of Love Come to Me by Lisa Kleypas , and sold it in e-bay lot of penny books. Stupid, stupid; I had no idea that it was so valued. But that one's getting reprinted next month so I don't feel so bad now.

Done.:)

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

The Kleypas oldies (well, at least one) are getting reissued? Wonder if they're going to be "improved".....

BRNTerri | 86 comments Jennefer wrote: "Where Passion Leads by Lisa Kleypas 1987
This was the first romance she wrote when she was 24 years old. A bit towards the end-ish of the BR era. I do know it has a rape, but I don't know about any other BR elements. I don't think I have ever seen a copy of this anywhere for less than $50.... lots of people would love to get their hands on the first Kleypas!"

That book isn't a bodice ripper. I've read it. You can read my spoiler summary here, if interested: http://bit.ly/1TSEhYs
