I think [in my opinion] She ment that, anyone who would see this, would have added the book. Meaning, People who have read this book will see it. And for the most part, people who have read Harry pOtter like it. So to have someone complain about not liking it, it would be pointless against so many people reading it, who do like it.

I really enjoyed the first three books, but when they started getting to 800+ pages without a whole lot happening, I shifted exclusively to the movies. Harry, Hermione and Ron are appealing characters in their struggles and friendships, which is why I haven't given up on the series altogether.

This thread is getting out of hand. I like Harry Potter, but do not think it is as great as the hype. I do not read all fluff nor all lit and you can check my shelves to see what I read. I think the people who bash people for liking HP are wrong, but I also think HP lovers trying to hijack this thread are wrong. This thread was clearly made for people who did not like the book to come and discuss (Well, at least the title indicates). If you jump in to this thread to proclaim how great HP is, you should not be surprised when you get flamed; and you should not act all upset and victimized. Personally, I have no interest in flaming HP, but it really annoys me when people do not read the title of threads and respond accordingly. I was just in a thread on another board called "complain about prices" and people kept jumping in and saying,"everyone is too negative here" or "you guys complain too much". Hey- if the thread isn't for you, start your own or join another. -end rant

Now how about people actually post concrete reasons why they hate the books ("only complete idiots would read it" is not a good reason)? Then others will be able to discuss if they agree or disagree and why(good responses, IMO, do not include you don't understand it, you're an idiot, you're immature, etc.).

Totally agree with you about the name-calling. When a "debate" is reduced to calling people an idiot if they think a certain way, the debate is really just over....people need to supply legit reasons and not just personally attack their "opponent."
