"J.K.Rowling has a confession: The Harry Potter series author wanted Ron Weasley dead. And not at the very end, either. She wanted him killed off halfway through the wizard tales.The writer admitted as much to none other than Daniel Radcliffe, the star of the Harry Potter movies. The actor interviewed the scribe as part of a special feature to the DVD out Nov. 11, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2", which leaked early on the Web, the Guardian reported.
In the short, Radcliffe tells Rowling that he was sure one of the three main characters "had to buy it." That's when the scribe of the beloved books owns up that Harry's best friend almost didn't make it.
She says, "Funnily enough, I planned from the start that none of them would die. Then midway through, which I think is a reflection of the fact that I wasn't in a very happy place, I started thinking I might polish one of them off. Out of sheer spite." Thankfully for fans of Weasley, including his love interest, Hermione, J.K. Rowling never followed through with the thought."
My Comment: Why not just kill off all the characters and let Voldomort win and then the world explodes and everyone is dead

Let's take this apart
1. Perhaps, but it is not an idea that hasn't already been explored in numerous books/periods of history.
2. I have to disagree. The plot is so well thought out and strategically revealed throughout the books that it cannot be explained as "bad"
3. The writing in my opinion, which is obviously different than yours, is amazing and much better than many examples in this day and age (example: Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
4. The characters give us hope. There are some sickening characters, like voldemort, but that is true of all books. Without those characters, the book is pointless. The book is no fun, it is not worth reading.
5. The solutions are believable... given the situation. They can use magic. Did you read all seven? I haven't bumped into one unbelievable situation.

Harry potter really is an amazing book and i think it would take extraordinary character to write something so offbase to everything we have seen before.

Ok... I respect your opinion dear... But maybe, you find it pointless because you did not find time to read it or really spend time on it... I mean, if you just give it a try maybe you'll see it the way we see the book... You admitted that the book was popular... Right? Then that must mean that it's not pointless at all since most people loved it... Why don't you try reading it from the first book up to the last... Read it at night while sitting on the sofa or something... Feeling the story and make the characters alive in your imagination... Just let your mind explore... Many enjoyed it... I truly enjoyed it.. And maybe you will... ;)

All those ideas make me cry with laughter since honestly...I don't know...but I can say that I've read a whole lot weirder books than HP, and it has the most thought out plot ever. JK Rowling is a genius.

I love the last book especially! the other books are ok, but i just love the last one and the half blood prince! they are awesome.. probably cause i read the book before watching the movie

Wow if you're not allowed to read Harry Potter at all then that is some serious parent controlling there. My parents never cared what I read...since it was kind of hard for them to keep me away from a store with books or a library.
Same with my parents.
