why do you hate harry potter? the story is mind blowing! jk rowling is an amazing writer! does anyone know what else she has written?
everyone has their own opinion on books. I personally loved the Harry Potter series, but if you hate it that is your opinion. I cannot change your mind, but think before you say something next time.
Kush ur soooo right! im in luv with the hp series-but ur right-sometimes, you just cant change someones opinion.
Well you could. Like before I told my friend 2 years ago about Percy Jackson series he thought he wouldn't like it, but now he loves it.
I hate Percy Jackson and 3 of my friends used to LOVE it and wouldn't read Harry Potter, so I made a bet with my friend. I would read PJO and she would read HP. All 3 of my friends caught on the HP fever.... :) xP
Nolan wrote: "Really? I like PJO more than HP."I'm a HUGE fan of both, but Harry totally wins.
For example if the world was going to blow up and we all had to go to Mars and we could only bring one book with us, I'm not wasting my book on PJO, its totally Harry Potter 7!

What???
Can you at least give me a reason why???!?

So not Percy Jackson?"
Absolutely not! The skinjacker series by Neal Shusterman is much better!

Then there'd be no use in limiting people to just one book!
I'm so sorry. I think I'm betraying God for reading this series. My father does not want me to read this series. But I never stopped. I read the first five books and I LOVED IT! If you're a Christian I'm sure you're not allowed to read books about witchcraft, mythology and other things that's against your faith. But hey I'm a Christian and I've read this book, Percy Jackson series, Vampire diaries and a lot more books that is uh, against my faith? But it doesn't get me. I don't apply all the things I read. I just read to know. I read to have fun. I read to broaden my imagination. I read to know about people. And I admire J.K. Rowling for writing this, even though it's witchery, because she constructed it well. Her imagination is so wild and just flows. I love that! When I told my dad I've been reading the series even though he said that I shouldn't, he told me that it's okay now and he understands me somehow. But I should not really apply the things I've read and learned here. And I promised that I won't. So it's like that. I love God. I still serve him. And I love this book. And I will re-read this series!I'm just stating my opinion and thoughts. (;
If you hate the book at least give the author some credits. She made a huge effort to construct the book well.
I liked these books.To call someone a complete IDIOT for reading the series is a bit cruel. Everyone has their own opinions, and just because someone hates something, I think they should keep it to themselves.
AND TO NOT RESORT TO NAME-CALLING.

Why would they even limit us to one book? To torture us?
Nolan wrote: "Why would they even limit us to one book? To torture us?"The point of the exercise is to really think about which book you've read that is timeless, that you'd never get tired of, or that you'd get the most out of from re-reading over and over again.

It's a common question, like Will said, but there was also a book written about a group of people who had to go to Mars because the world was exploding, and each person could bring one book, and each family got one bible. The most valuable books ended up being the kid's books with pictures of earth in them. It was an interesting read looking back now, but it wasn't so much in third grade. :P
