Yeah Kenna and Mary Christabelle totally agree. Do not fight about it. Harry Potter readers are not idiots. They are awesome.

Harry Potter is very much written as good vs evil, with goodness, taking the form of love and self-sacrifice as the victorious side. There are aspects of evil, but the bible itself shows good vs evil... I think it's terrible for anyone to be banned from reading this because of fear-mongering parents who think their children will partake in a cult... Um, are you allowed to read books by the Christian author, C.S. Lewis? What about J.R.R. Tolkien? It's preposterous to think that these books are harmful. They're fiction.

I think this discussion is too controversial because all there's ever going to be is people saying that Harry Potter is epic and people saying that it sucks. There really isn't much fun besides 2 sides butting heads.

Have you really given it a fair chance? Did you read the books with an unbiased, open, nondiscriminatory, impartial mind? Or, just ask someone who likes it to explain their reasoning for liking it. If they don't help, ask someone else. Keep asking until someone gives you an elaborate explanation.

Going back to the original post..of course the Harry Potter Books have a point...Its the same point that every FICTION book has.... entertainment... some fiction stories have other messages or points that the authors wish to get across but the primary point is to entertain the readers. If you really must have a point in the books you read then stick to non-fiction.

However, it is a very flawed story, as in it's isn't perfect. But what series is?
