I can't disagree with you more. It's a good vs bad book, except everyone is young and magical. Does every single book have to tweak your brain and expand your thought processes. Can't they just be fun and exciting?

And I still do, even though I've read even more adult books and some classics since then. Now as an adult, I'm more interested in YA fantasy than I am in adult fantasy (which I was more into as a child!). So I don't see any genre or section in the library as a "stepping stone" to anything. I just read whatever catches my interest. No silly age rules for me.
