Does anyone else besides me hate Harry Potter?

Meh, I don't like the series either. I think its overrated. I'm not the only person in the world who dislikes it, that much is obvious. No matter what the fans say. People need to chill. So what if we HATE harry potter? It doesn't have to be a "awesome" book in our perspective. AND who cares if people LOVE it?What annoys me is the attacks. I get annoyed with the fans than the book itself sometimes.

So for that person, there is no such thing as 'Who cares if you love HP'. She certainly felt disgusted with the fans and chose to attack instead of having decent conversation.
We do not care if you hate HP series. But we surely care if anyone attacks us.

I am very Christian, and I am a lover of HP. To my knowledge the books never denounce God, in fact JK avoided the subject of God entirely, because she didn't want it to turn into a controversy. In fact, a lot of people consider the last book especially to be quite Christian in tone.
I'm not trying to make you read them, but I hope you will consider the possibility that these books are not evil in nature. Sure, they may have some actions and content which goes against the Bible, but the actual morality of the stories is quite positive.
Just my thoughts.
I too am a Christian, but I don't like the books because of the witchcraft. I don't like the books because it is too cliched, took too much stuff from other (recognizable) sources (Lord of the Rings, anyone?), the main character is a brat who acts like a puppet, does what he is told without complaining, and marries a Mary-Sue character. Now *that's* why I don't like Harry Potter.
I rest my case.

Constantly? Where did you get this? From your hatred mind? You responded to my comment to Lizzie and added something. My comment was about the first subject was all about a hater provoked HP fans. If you consider calling HP fans idiots as not an attack to us, then you surely need to fix yourself.

It's unfortunate that they are so frustrated with people liking something that they don't. Perhaps they are angry all the time (Being that it's the human condition to have different likes and dislikes), and we're just the easiest group to yell about?
Whatever the case, this person was trolling, and it's better if we just stop responding (in my opinion).
This is becoming a very heated discussion. I mean I understand if someone hates the book though I love them but the person might have worded it wrong when they said that anyone who read hp is an idiot

If someone wants to point out actual things they they disliked about the book and are ABLE to recieve comments on their opinion (because that's the entire point of a discussion board, to talk to each other, analyze their opinions and then respond), then fine, keep talking. Commenting about the ORIGINAL topic is not helping anyone anymore. No one cares who is attacking who.
I am happy to discuss with someone who actually is open to discussion why I love the books, and I'm happy to recieve comments about why people don't like the books.

Wow - Are not Harry Potter books shelved in the "young adult," section? That should tell you that your literary taste will mature to the Literary and adult kinds of books. This book/series is only a stepping stone to really good books that stand the test of time.

Hate's a bit strong, I think the books provide entry level reading for kids which is great, however, the idea of comparing them to LOTR etc is frankly ridiculous!
