If you don't like the books that fine, and you have every right to say that, but to call people that do like it an idiot is ignorant, and just unPC. It invalidates your opinion and weakens your argument. Just say you don't like the book and what grounds you don't like it and be done. For example:Harry Potter is well written and Rowling is meticulous about word choice and plot structure. The characters are well-developed, interesting, and likable. It has an interesting look on the good vs. evil concept.
Now what do you really think about Harry Potter?

I used to read all the time when I was younger, but somewhere in the 11th or 12th grade I just stopped reading. Maybe because I was forced to read stupid books?!
Absolutely not! THERE ARE SOOOOO AWESOME!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWEEEEEEEESSSSOOOOOOMEEEEEEEE!
The Harry Potter series reminds me of Justin Bever: overrated and overpublicized. (I'm not even sure I'm spelling his name right . . . . you can see I'm not a huge fan of pop culture :)

Hey! Hey! She's just saying her opinion about the BOOKS and not US at least. But still. Justin Bieber sucks. I agree about that(I'm not sure that I am spelling his name right either). But Harry Potter is 1000000000000x better than Justin Bieber.

Uhm, it's quite hard for me to figure out why you hate Harry Potter? I can't believe that a book did anything that would make you hate it.

me! theses books are really SLOW, but the movies are super cool :)
that almost never happens
that almost never happens
ummm, it didn't happen because where the movies are alright the books are a spiritual experience, duh
I read the first two Harry Potter books. They had some merit but were not compelling, in my view. Their biggest merit is that they've gotten millions of children excited about reading. Sorry to offend. Let me happily concede that Harry is much more heroic and inspiring than Justin (whose last name can evidently be spoken but not spelled, no pun intended).

I don't know about spiritual.....

Kayla wrote: "The stupid book has no point at all! Only complete idiots would read Harry Potter!"Ur a meanie. I think what you said is really self-absorbed. Dude, I'm a major Potter fan, but if you had said that in front of a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR potter fan-and trust, they're out there-you'd be getting your sorry butt kicked right now-no joke. By the way, I'm not JUST a major potter fan, I'm a potter FREAK, and if i have to be an idiot to absolutely adore this creatively, well-thought, AMAZING book series, then I'll darn well be one.

Justin's last name is Beiber. I know it puts a red line under it, but, that's how it is spelled. Again, no pun intended.
Juliet wrote: "ummm, it didn't happen because where the movies are alright the books are a spiritual experience, duh"And that's kinda sack-religious. HP isn't really a SPIRITUAL experience more of a TOUCHING experience.

just kidding
If you don't like Harry Potter, I won't judge you. But personally (besides Maximum Ride and a few other series) HARRY POTTER IS THE BOMB!!!!!! (This is off topic, sorry) I think if people have watched X-Men and like it, Maximum Ride is PERFECT for you to read!!! BTW, I didn't find it out that way. lol
