How did he/she get here? I heard they were all stuck in Africa because of the volcano. One of the CNN anchors said "maybe an American will finally win this year" and immediately took it back:)

Had only heard of a few (no more than 12- 24) European runners who qualified who were affected by the Volcano who were not going to be able to make the race. Hadn't heard of any of the major contenders, especially the Kenyans. And the winner was a young 21 year old man and this years female winner was an Ethiopian.

It isn't a holiday for me. Just a regular monday. Only difference is that I could wear jeans today. The marathon route did go right past my building. Its a mob scene out there. So many runners and spectators.

One of my bike riding friends ran this year. I just looked it up online and saw that she was the 3886th finisher in her division. I hope she had fun.

It's a beautiful day for it! And Janine as a mom I always think more of holiday cuz schools always have it off/corresponding school vacations :) . I love being along the route and watching the runners, better on these gorgeous days than the rainy ones but been there and done that too.
