Definitely! She really does deserve an award.

On my eleventh birthday I won a bouncy ball at my school... It was the happiest moment of my life. :)

message 853: by [deleted user] (new)

The only thing I really won was a blue ribbon (not the highest) for progress in gym class. :/

message 854: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Yeah... I'm just kind of an unlucky person. One of my aunts on the other hand is like the luckiest ladies ever!

message 855: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Stringer Yeah, I won a chocolate bar once.

message 856: by Ella (new)

Ella | 678 comments Carrie, I just both videos.... Wow.
Alexis, he said that he wanted to be the Doctor when he was 3 years old.
Lynne, I'm sure you'll win an award some day :) Everyone deserves a special acknowledgement every once in a while, yeah?

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments Ack! I gotta learn how to turn off the sound on this thing! All you're guys' comments almost got me in trouble... The teacher kept staring at me

message 858: by Ella (new)

Ella | 678 comments Omg, you're still in school?

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments No no! It was just the last class and it was a Socratic Seminar so it was queit

message 860: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Stringer Yeah, it doesn't really worry me these days. I'm lucky in other ways.

message 861: by Ella (new)

Ella | 678 comments ♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond wrote: "No no! It was just the last class and it was a Socratic Seminar so it was queit"

Ouch, I'm sorry.

Ella | 678 comments Lynne wrote: "Yeah, it doesn't really worry me these days. I'm lucky in other ways."

You're lucky in other ways? Lynne, I think you're the luckiest one out of all of us! You're an author! I want to be one, but I'm still in school. And everyone expects me to be a doctor... *sigh* I wish I could be an author.

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments No no! It's fine! Every time it rang I looked around like, "Who's phone is ringing?" And everyone wants me to be a lawyer...

message 864: by Ella (new)

Ella | 678 comments Aww, I'm still sorry.
Well, what do you want to be?

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments An actress. You?

message 866: by Ella (new)

Ella | 678 comments OMIGOSH, you should totally do that!!! Wow, I....wow. I want to be an author but everyone wants me to be a doctor.

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments Well I think you should do whatever you want to do!!

message 868: by Ella (new)

Ella | 678 comments Thing is I "want" to do both. I don't want to disappoint everyone in my life but I don't want to spend the rest of my life doing an obligation. You know?

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments I know. See my family would prefer for me to be a lawyer, but they sort of understand that acting is my thing because they see me on stage and they all said they saw me physically relax and I seemed like I didn't have a care in the world.

message 870: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Stringer Ella, if you become an author you'll probably need a day job anyway, because writing doesn't pay very well unless you're really, really lucky. Admittedly, being a doctor would mean long hours, so it would be tricky to spend a great deal of time writing, but there's no reason you can't be an author and do something else as well.

message 871: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments I agree with Ella... I don't know what we're talking about, but what she said seemed smart. ^-^

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments My backup to acting is food science. It's interesting... c:

message 873: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments I have noooo clue what I want to be. Which I should probably start thinking about, but the thought of it just scares me. I don't wanna grow up :(

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments I don't wanna go up either... This is a nice life...

message 875: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Yes, yes it is. Growing up is really scary to me. It means I'll have more responsibilities and will have to get a job and pay taxes and... *shakes head no*

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments That is exactly how I feel. Kids seem always ready to grow up, put there's a lot of times I wish I could go back and just be a kid again. I miss the innocence, really and truly.

message 877: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Exactly! I feel like most of the people around me can't wait to grow up, but I'm dreading it. I just want to stay on the present without having to grow up.

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments The present? Not for me. It's full of studying and worrying and having to be able to know what's going on in the world, else looking like an ignorant person. I'd rather go back to the world where you could run around outside for hours and hours, then having to come back inside when the street lamps come on.

message 879: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Oh gosh, those were the days! I'm thinking i would go back to.. Fourth grade? I didn't have very many friends back then, but I have good memories.

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments Hmm... I don't know what year I'd prefer... Really anything before 5th grade... I actually think kindergarten... I lived in Missouri then, had the best of friends because we all lived right next to each other.

message 881: by cαяяιє (last edited Sep 04, 2013 07:24PM) (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Kindergarten was okay, but I remember my teacher used to make us do so much math and I hated it. Fifth through seventh grade weren't my best years. I had this one friend who was just drama, drama, drama, all the time. But I did like fifth grade.

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments I think all times of life have their ups and downs. I loved being a kid; the freedom to run and jump and just be who you are. But being in high school isn't that bad either; you get to drive yourself places, opening up opportunities for fun and jobs which get you money for more fun or college! Also, you have time to spend with your friends, granted it might be at school functions, but those can be great fun too.

And childhood had its downsides. Bedtimes and the seemingly unfair treatment of siblings… everything you do is either going to be a blueprint for your siblings (no pressure but don't mess up), or everything is just a boring repeat of what your siblings have done before you. And high school obviously has downsides too. For example sleep deprivation. And not having time to be on Goodreads….

So when we get to college, there will be perks and disadvantages too. I think once we've got four years of college under our belts we'll be more ready or at least capable of being on our own.

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments I feel so wise and profound….

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments Well you have opened my eyes (Like seriously, Im not being sarcastic at all) I understand completely what you mean. Basically this is the human nature of that constant feeling if nostalgia.

message 885: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments Yeah, kinda sad, isn't it? To always long for the past… it's horrible and yet it's good because it keeps us looking at the bright side of our past. For example, remembering being free to have fun until Mom called us for dinner, but forgetting how much we disliked having to come in at all.
Glad to be of service, m'lady *sweeping bow*

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments You deserve a round if applause *starts slow clapping* (Again, no sarcasm!)

message 887: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Jeez Ebony, your like a genius! Completely agree with Emi, totally opened my eyes.

message 888: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments *joins the slow clap*

message 889: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments I should have my own thread called, "The Mage at the Top of the Mountain" and people should come to me with their problems ;)
Thanks guys, I'm so glad you appreciate my ideas! Usually I'm ignored or expected to do all the work and know all the answers. There is no in between. So this really makes me happy :D

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments Yes! Do it! Well give you a magical hat!

message 891: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments You can have your very own honorary bowtie!

message 892: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments And a large tome to study! What's a Mage without a tome?

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments And a robe!

message 894: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments A super cool bowtie with magic in it??

message 895: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Duh! We might even give you some sonic :)

♥Emi Love♥ Come Along, Pond | 666 comments Oooo! Sonic!

message 897: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments A sonic bow tie OMR! I love how this discussion of human nostalgia has turned into a discussion of what I'll need to be a proper Mage :)
This Mage needs her beauty rest, so good night! I'll try to be on again tomorrow!

message 898: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 401 comments Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, our Mage is leaving us :(
Okay, goodnight. I'll probably have to leave soon too. First day of school tomorrow :/

message 899: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Stringer I think any age has its pros and cons. For me, school was a horrible experience, so getting past that and into the workforce wasn't a bad thing. My self esteem grew in leaps and bounds once I left school behind. And the responsibility of being an adult comes on gradually and that will give you time to get used to it.

message 900: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments Yeah, we all have different experiences, I guess
First day? I've been in school for three weeks!
