What are you reading? (Part 2)

I will start

Hi Tiphaine... A Knife Of is the start of a great series!

Now I'm reading

That's exactly what I found Tasula - In fact Felix was kind of a whimpy germaphobe. Book was just okay.

I wonder if I can read a few pages/a chapter or two a day so as not to finish it too soon

That would be more restraint than I would be able to have. :) Good luck with that!

@Lisa MH-I just bought The Iron King on my Nook and it's on my TBR list-let me know how you like it.
@Ola-That series only gets better with each subsequent book. Magic Burns is completely awesome.

@Crystal - I totally loved Magic Bites, so I’m looking forward to reading Magic Burns. Especially, since you've said that it gets even better :)
Now, I’ve started reading

Yeah, it is out, but be forewarned that this one has a BIG cliffhanger at the end.

Then you will have to stay tuned until next year at this time for Angel Town to come out. The last book of this series.

I know, I am a little sad that the series is going to end. I really like Jill.

Did you notice how alot of the best series come to an end too quickly? Think Shifters, Vampire Academy (w/Rose). Then publishers drop series such as Cin Craven, which I absolutely loved.

I wonder if it is the authors wanting to go out on top, instead of letting the series go on and on til it is bad. At least that is what I would do.

It stinks when a good series ends, especially because they rarely end with a sense of closure. The only series that I can think of that really ended nicely for me was Tairen Soul. There were a few loose ends, but I wasn't upset because the author plans to write some follow up books on a couple of the characters.
Sometimes series drag on way too long though and you start to feel like things are going round and round, then you get upset and feel like the publishers are just trying to milk it to get more money. House of Night feels like this to me.
I think Shifters really should have had a book 7 because it felt like everything was crammed into book 6. Although, I got the impression that Rachel Vincent was ready to be done with the series by a few of her blog posts.
As for VA, it had to end at some point. There was no way to really drag that Adrian/Dimitri thing out too much longer or it would have gotten old.

I'm glad there will be a sixth book in the Jill Kismet series, since Dante Valentine was five books long (or would that be 'five books short'? since I wanted that series to go on a bit more). The wait isn't bothering me, by the time I get a copy of #5, the sixth should be out.

We all could name numerous series that SHOULD have ended early, and then there are those we wish could have continued.
Dante Valentine is a good example as I am currently, and slowly, making my way thru that series. 6 books for the Kismet series is probably just right.
It's funny that in alot of cases, the publisher ends the series, and not the writer. I previously used the case of Cin Craven. I spoke with the writer who told me that the publisher didn't pick book 4 up. Now, she wants to self publish, which I wish I had the money to do with my two books.
What I need is a Beta readers group.

I do not like the writing style. Maybe I'll get used to it, maybe I won't. But I'll give it a chance, perhaps the story will make up for it.

I'm glad th..."
I really liked the Dante Valentine series, though when it ended was logical considering the overall story line of the series had ended. I just wanted one more...kind of like candy.
I have the Cin Craven book 1 on my TBR pile. Is it a good series? I hope that the writer is able to self publish, I'm sure there is a dedicated fan base out there. I only read a short story about Cin Craven from an anthology, and immediately liked it.
Have you considered online/self publishing companies? One of the moderators in another group I'm in went that route and has nothing but good to say about it. The site he recommended was lulu.com.

Becca, yes, I highly recommend the Cin Craven series. The Wages of Sin is probably the best, but the others are wonderful reads as well; Grave Sins and Bound By Sin.
In answering your self publishing question. The problem I'm having is, I've been out of work for 18 months and my finances are just getting me by month to month. Jenna Maclaine, the author of the Cin series, seems to be leaning that way as well. I truly hope so as I am definitely ready for another book in this series.

Thank you for the wishes, and you are welcome :O)

I'm currently reading Midnight's Daughter by Karen Chance (sorry I'm a newbie and haven't worked out the cool trick of showing the book cover yet!) it is the first in the second of her series that I have read and I am loving it!

In the comment box, there is an add book/author feature. If you click on the link, it brings you to book author...choose the book or author you are reading then look to the bottom and you will see add cover, or link...Hope this helps!

Up next, I dont know yet. I'm waiting for the library to get me Darkfever so I don't want to start anything big.
