Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hey,

I'm trying to get an idea about something. I created a new poll and think you guys should check it out.

Also, do you folks think we should put some order to the group bookshelf? Such as shelves? If so, what shelf labels should we have? I did a little tinkering so you guys could see what I was talking about (Honestly I got tired after labeling five books). It might be a good way to find suggestions. Or could just be really lame.... Wouldn't be my first lame idea that's for sure!!!

Heidi Ha! I am the first to vote and there is already 50% for Team Peeta. p.s. what is with you and the shelves? Are we back to that again???? That is so...like March.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Shelves will forever flourish in my world. Viva la shelves!

Sheila (sheilaj) Oh yeah, A new debate. I'm Team Shelf!

Haha, Sheila! That's great!

wait...

what shelves?

is there a new book out with the protagonist being a shelf? *frowns*

hahahahaha...

^_^

no really, what's with the shelf and Peep?"

Certain people on this board like to make fun of my shelf names.

message 9: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Blue Moon - you must look at Peep's shelves, they are quite controversial. jk (Go Team Peeta)

message 10: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yes - her shelves on her profile!

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Peep's shelves are legendary!

message 12: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I feel like we are right back at the beginning Shannen!

message 13: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Bluemoon they aren't any different than anyone else's shelves. I've just been creative in categorizing my books. It makes it easier for me to find a title, is all. The shelf names are like your "Read, to read, currently reading, and to read in 2011" but just a little bit different.

message 14: by S.S. (new)

S.S. (ssrice) | 75 comments I hate to admit, but I haven't even used 'shelves' at all. No org. skills whatsoever.

I love shelves too- I have TONS!!!

message 16: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Peep, I just checked out your shelves. They really are hilarious. I only have "favorites", "wishlist" and "books-i-own" added to the usual Goodreads shelves. Yours are creative.

What type of shelves do you have Peep?

message 18: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) Do you have to be friends with Peep to view the infamous shelves?

message 19: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Sheila wrote: "Do you have to be friends with Peep to view the infamous shelves?"

Yes :(

I have crazy shelves and haven't met anyone with crazy shelves too, but I can't view Peep's.

message 20: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Well, they aren't as bad as people think. It's only a few and its stupid names like "Reasons why I punch authors in the face" or "Books I Would propose to". Kidding. I don't have that one but mine are just as lame like that.

Anyway, there is at least one of us (can't remember who) who has shelves along the lines of "Insanely must acquire" or "insanely must buy", which is pretty insane!

message 21: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) That is insane!

I separate by genre and by age appropriateness and by awards... A lot of shelves.

message 22: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yes, you have to be my friend but I feel bad that you guys are getting your hopes up. They're like a 10.0 on the lame scale. They just use it as a reason to tease me. *whimper*

message 23: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I think my favorite shelf I've created so far is "waste of my life" shelf for books I really hate. Anyone else have a favorite name for a shelf?

message 24: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) I should be more creative with my shelf names... Mine are boring.

Becca- what books have you put on that shelf? I am really nice about my scoring and reviewing, so I don't even thing I have any 1 star books.. I'd have nothing to put on the shelf.

message 25: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Ummm...The Book of Merlyn, A Room With a View, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are the three I have on there at the moment. I only put books on there that I was absolutely bored out of my mind or totally confused and actually couldn't finish. Most books I can at least finish, but some are just an absolute waste of my time. Merlyn was the worst of that lot.

message 26: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments The next shelf up is "at least I finished it", lol, and the whole twilight series is on there. Why did I read it again? Oh ya, because I gave into peer pressure.

message 27: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Becca- You crack me up!

message 28: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Thanks! I like my shelves and I love the shelf names I've heard from Peep. Good enough to plagiarize, but I think my names reflect my personality.

Becca wrote: "The next shelf up is "at least I finished it", lol, and the whole twilight series is on there. Why did I read it again? Oh ya, because I gave into peer pressure."

What? It didn't end up on your "wasted my life" shelf?

message 30: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments If I can finish a book it isn't a complete waste of my life and like I've said before, I loved the idea behind Twilight, I thought it was brilliant and beautiful, just poorly executed. And I know it has a place in the hearts of many, just not mine.

message 31: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I swear I'm not a hater and I thought it was awesome that my teenage sisters loved Twilight because it meant they were reading and I finally had something in common with them.

message 32: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Wow Becca this subject really got you going!

message 33: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I rarely detest a book, I'm fairly easy to please, but when it comes to it, I can put my foot down. If I'm totally annoyed with the writing style or the protagonist, I can put up with it, but when it's both, I can get pretty heated. What did Peep say? "Reasons why I punch authors in the face"? Ya, that's me sometimes, slinging punches.

message 34: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Well you know I don't hold back my opinions either! I have too many in my tbr pile right now, so I had to make my shelves into tbr categories (audio, mystery, YA), but as soon as my pile is managable I plan to be like you and Peep and make some "personalized" shelves about my already read books :)

message 35: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Don't kid yourself, your tbr pile will never be manageable while attached to this group. lol!

message 36: by Heidi (new)

Heidi But I want to kid myself! Let a girl dream!

message 37: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi it's too late for you. You should have started when you had less than 100 books. Since you have been on a rating blitz it's too late. But I think you can still do it. I believe in you.

message 38: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Start now, don't wait for a future that may never happen. The only way you can make your future dreams come true is to kick a** in the present.
