Echo- Changes in Jamie and Claire
Thank you so much Kimberly! I googled but wanted to make sure I was getting a reliable site. Not that many came up ... Did you have any problems payment/shipping? I am so glad the ring makes you happy! I have decided to buy it also. I am going to marry myself and make me happy too! :0) I have given up faith on finding my Jamie...
I actually called deSignet and spoke with Marie directly to order mine (1-888-727-8266 ext. 103). The Claire's ring site says that you can only order the ring in whole and half sizes, but you actually can order in quarter sizes as well (mine is 6 1/4) if you're getting gold. Also, the gold prices listed on the Claire's ring website aren't up-to-date so call for pricing. The actual price was about half of what was listed on the pricing chart online and Marie gave me an additional $100 off (she didn't say why and I wasn't going to question it, haha).I think it's awesome you are buying yourself a ring! I wear mine every day and it makes me smile :) You could always go to the Highland games and scope out the field for any Jamie look-a-likes...LOL! ;)
Thanks so much for all the information. I actually waited to see what you had to say. Great! Not only have I thought of the Highland games. I think I might even make signs and post them on telephone poles all the way there!
Haha, you would be sure to capture some attention then! :DGood luck with ordering! I'm sure you'll love your ring--they really are beautiful if I do say so myself, crazed Outlander fan that I am, LOL.

Hi, I am new to this site and am loving it. But, what is wrong with 70 year-olds having sex??? I have always heard use it or lose it :) Anyway, y'all are so entertaining...while I am waiting for the next book to come out in the fall. Come on fall!!!! And, yes...,I'm old...not 70 yet but "I ain't dead yet either!" I have to tell y'all this book series has seriously helped my libido and my sex life. My husband (3 years younger than me) is wearing a biiiiigggg grin these days!
Nothing wrong with "senior sex", just not so sure that I want to read that much about it either... LOL...
Linda wrote: "Nothing wrong with "senior sex", just not so sure that I want to read that much about it either... LOL..."Lmao... I can only hope my husband and I remain as randy as our Jamie and Claire, when were their age. I think it's awesome... lol
Could be that it was because they were separated for 20 years and only back together for 10ish... in their minds, they are still in their late 30s, right? LOL
Lol, we have an almost 37 y/o son (6'3" and a redhead to boot) who says he throws up a little in his mouth when he thinks of his dad and I having a sex life! So... being the perpetual "payback mom" that I am... I work extra hard at giving him those "moments". Ha! Payback is heck I tell him for all the times he has offered TMI!
Lol Shell....he's handsome too but with brilliant green eyes...not blue :) and he is actually descended from a fine family of Scotland on his dad's side.

Kimberly, I have to tell you that I did order the ring. I ordered it about a week ago. The scheduled delivery date was June 9th. Ugggg..... forever and a day right?? I received a UPS Ship Notification from deSignet with scheduled delivery May 7th. Can't be right?? I called. It shipped in error but it is the same ring that I ordered!! I'll have it in three days. Can you say, Happy Go Lucky!! I sorta feel bad for whomever's ring it was. Sorta...

Sharon, I never said there's anything wrong with 70 yr. olds having sex, I think it's fantastic!!! I'm just saying that it's not exactly what we like to think of or picture in our minds. Well, maybe I should have said it's not mine. LOL Please don't take me wrong, I LOVE Jamie & he will be the man I will forever think of as the perfect man & a role model for men. In fact in some ways he has (or DG LOL) ruined it for me finding a husband because I will always think of Jamie & who he is as a man. I get so incredibly sad & bummed when I remember he's only a character in a book, why can't he be real....aahhh
By the way, is your son available?? I've been divorced for 7 yrs. now!! LOL If he is maybe you could post a pic & we can all enjoy him!! HAHA :)

Heather,
Which Highland games are you talking about? I live in northern Minnesota & I've never heard of them until recently. I would LOVE to go to them, but I don't think there are any games even close to MN. I looked on-line & didn't see anything, but that doesn't mean there isn't. Do you have any idea???

Oh my gosh that's crazy! Is the ring they accidentally sent you the same size and metal as the one you ordered as well? I would also feel sorta bad for whoever isn't getting her ring--sucks to be her but that's good for you! I want to hear what you think of it once it comes! :)

Hi Robin. I am sorry, I don't know. Kimberly suggested the highland games and I too would LOVE to go but I don't think they have any in the states? (I checked North Carolina lol). I will have to pass this one back off on Kimberly. Unless anyone else knows?
No worries Robin... if there are here, I will find them and you will be the first to know.
I actually don't know much about the Highland games other than the research I have done. I haven't been to the games yet myself, but I am planning on going this summer when they are happening here in Oregon. Here is a website where you can search for games in your area:http://www.nasgaweb.com/dbase/main.asp
I just selected my state (OR) hit "select" and a calendar of events in the area popped up.
I'm going to converse with my husband to see which games/festival he wants to go to. He has actually agreed to go with me :)
Heather wrote: "Your the best Kimberly!"Let me know if you find any games in your area. I'm curious who of us will be going to games :)
It looks like there were a lot of game dates here in Florida last month but there are two highland games this month. :) I think its time to round up some girlfriends that haven't put in their labor hours this year. I'll keep you posted.
Its ok Robin! I got a kick out of it! And I feel the same way about Jamie even though I DO have a husband...sometimes I'd like to trade him in :) I, like so many others, forget that Jamie is a fictional character but if he weren't there would be a million women panting after him constantly! I'd be one of them.. guess you could say I am a "cougar"...er...make that an "old cougar". Maybe I'm too old to even be a cougar! Ha! Sorry, my son isn't available and he has 3 little readheaded boys to boot! LOL. Well, their mother wants to say they are redheaded but actually they are more blonde except the baby who is almost a redhead!
Kimberly wrote: "Heather wrote: "Your the best Kimberly!"Let me know if you find any games in your area. I'm curious who of us will be going to games :)"
They're also mountain man type games so they may be under that.
A friend told me about some Highland games that are held in North Carolina each year....I think they are this month..we plan on meeting there maybe next year. By the way, I have turned her on to Jamie and Claire. She is reading my first three books. I sent them to her. Hee Hee. We need more addicted readers! :)
I did do some checking, there are Highland games in NC at Grandfather Mountain July 9-11. If you want the web site, let me know. :) I'll just give it to you at least you can see what they include: www.gmhg.org (Sorry I don't know how to add it as a link you can click on & go to it) :( Wouldn't it be fun if we could find out which games are closest to the middle of the U.S. & then put out an invite for all Goodreads Outlander fans who would like to meet there & we could meet each other? It would be so fun....the Celtic Rock concert, calling of the clans, men doing the games..aahhh LOL It all sounds so fun, I wonder if they are all about the same or what. I'll have to look.
OMG! I'd love that! That would be so much fun. With all those kilted men I wouldn't know whether to sh*@ or go blind! At my age I'd probably hyperventilate and have a heart attack! However, I can't do it this July, but if y'all do it next year...or sometime later in the year this year...I'm in! Be still my heart!!!!!

You definetly can be a "cougar" who's to say what too old is?? LOL Your NEVER too old for sex & fun or looking at beautiful, sexy, hard bodied, gorgious, did I say sexy...MEN!! LMAO
I'm very happy for your son (however, sad for me HAHA)someday he's going to have a verra hard time keeping them girls away, aye!! :) I have a very beautiful granddaughter who's 4 though! haha
I've been divorced for 7 yrs. & started reading Outlander about 6 mo. after it was final. I have to say, it really changed EVERYTHING about what I want & what I won't do without in a man. Let's just say, I won't settle so I don't think there will be a marriage in my future...ever! LOL Divorced men around my age (I'm 46) aren't looking for woman my age they want a woman in their 20-30's or they haven't even been married yet & want children!!!! Yikes! I have 3 grown girls 22,24,26 & 2- 4 yr old grandchildren!! LOL So, I'm not holding out for a man, especially a "Jamie" type man because if there is one...he's surely taken! BOOO HOOO So, hold on to that man of yours, trust me, there's not much to choose from! LOL

I bet you know where I'll be on those days!!! LOL
I wonder if Jamie will bring up this particular talk: Jamie confronts Claire about having sex with the King (to get Jamie out of prison!), and he forces her to look him in the eye and says, "Never. Never another but me! Look at me! Tell me! Look at me, Claire!"
Sorry & here's my little rant!
I'm so, so, so disappointed in Claire, marry LJ yeah, but seriously, sleep with him?! I don't care HOW drunk they got or HOW distrott she was over losing Jamie, or LJ for that matter, you DON'T sleep with the "best friend"! NEVER, NO,NO,NO!!! Especially since she didn't believe Jamie was really dead! She said she would have felt it in her heart, her soul & she didn't so she wouldn't believe it! Then WHY sleep with a man she didn't like let alone love & the guy is in love with your husband?(not that they hadn't come to a place of mutual understanding)Also, he's not really impressed with you because your Jamie's soulmate, the very air he breathes & wasn't that what LJ wanted more than life itself, to have Jamie, especially his love? Doesn't make sense to me & seems very unlike Claire...I know people do thing they wouldn't normally do in times of extreme sadness, but come on, this is Claire!! The woman who is a Dr., she followed Jamie into war, several times! She was raped, had sex with a king, killed men, a wolf & all for Jamie! But the bottom line is, she ALWAYS did what she had to with a calm & level head. She ALWAYS believed in Jamie, if that ship supposedly sank, she'd know things can go wrong & never believe he was dead until a year or more passed or someone told her they actually saw him dead.
But in the end, she still had that gut feeling he wasn't dead & if she's always listened to her gut feelings before, then why not this time? This will NEVER make any sense to me despite how much other people try to explain it away! SO,
I hope beyond all hopes that in book 8 either Claire wakes up & finds out she dreamed it all & Jamie comes a-knocking. OR, Jamie is still on the ship in a puke induced coma, having nightmares of Claire having sex with LJ, then wakes up to find they are finally coming into port!!! OHH one can only wish!!!

Since I'm unable to move for 24 hrs.due to a back test with some nasty needles & a lot of dye, I'll make a wish for the future of DG & the OUTLANDER SERIES
Kimberly you & Linda just made the same point (I think, if I'm right LOL) about what I tried to say on message 34. I still say we either have to let go of Claire & Jamie a little bit & let the other people come through & take on more of the major roles. Well, we lose the whole series, let it end at #8! I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not voteing for that! OHH how scary, I shutter at the thought!!! How many more books can be written with Jamie & Claire running around? Maybe in today's world they could but not in the 1700's & I really enjoy the other characters. I can see a lot of interesting problems & heart stopping drama with a lot of love & sex thrown in! Bri & Rogers little situation, if you call losing a son by 200 some years a little situation! LOL :p Then there's Ian, ohhh I love him, he is so full of emotion, It's like I wear them when he's the story. He's so intense, quiet, sad & dark. You feel it pour out of him & into you (does that make sense?)& when he's happy it's a warm, soft, shy feeling that makes you want to reach out and wrap your arms around him to get more of it. aahh sigh He has a very honest way of projecting what he's feeling without saying or doing a thing. He can make you either very, very afraid or very, very happy & what you see is what you get. So, I'm very excited to see where his relationship with Sara is going to go! I Can't wait to see this shy, kind, loving, yet wild, young man with Mohawk hair and tattooed face with a strong, yet innocent, God fearing christian woman! Aye, this could be verra good indeed!
Now William, a lot of people say they don't like him. Well, I do! I think he's going to be verra big in the future, he's going to bring us our "Jamie" fix when we need one. He's already shown us he's got the Fraser temper & what can be better than Jamie's own son taking us on new adventures? Who could do it better? I hope to watch him grow into a man of is dad's character (maybe even a little LJ thrown in) he's got the looks & the body. Now how can anyone not enjoy this?? So, all we have to do is wait for him to meet Jamie, get over the lumps & bumps that are going to come from that reunion (more like fists & kicks haha) have him change sides, I know there's a good story in that somewhere! Then, hopefully a new relationship will be born & we'll see them all as one, a family! Maybe we'll watch as William picks out our new "Claire" & Taaahh Daaahh We're off on more adventures!!!! Roger, Bri & family, Ian, Sara, Rollo & family, William, Wife & family. All the family still in Scotland, we can have books on the family for another 50 yrs! whoop whoop Well, of course we have Jamie & Claire, they're on Fraser's Ridge or where ever they've settled down to, waiting to help out, lend support, give hugs & a lot of love! :) What da ya think?? LMAO will it work?? HAHAHAHAHA

I'm completely with you, Robin! It all sounds good to me! :D I'm just really hoping that the Jamie/Claire/LJ triangle gets resolved early on in Book 8, because I hate having Jamie and Claire out of sorts (who doesn't?!). I want there to be plenty of room in the 1,000+ pages for Ian, William, Bri & co., and everyone else. Plus, needless to say, A LOT of Jamie/Claire happy time :)

Ohh if only we could have a fly on DG's wall with a micro mini camera so we could find out the answer to that maddening situation!! haha
WOW look at all I wrote, looks like I'm the one writing a book! MY BAD! I really need to stop!!! :P ugg

Haha!!! I almost said in my last comment that it's too bad you're not writing the book because I like your ideas/thoughts and maybe it would come out before 2013! ;P

LOL your funny, I su*k at writing, however I sometime think if others have read them as many times as I have, I think a few of us could get together & write good ole #8! Do a might fine job of it to ya ken. However mind ya, we'd have ta be of like mind, aye?? LOL
I do have this sick sad feeling in my chest, you know, the kind you have when your pet of 18 yrs. dies & you can't move on or get rid of it & it's just there. No other books have ever left me that way..:(
That's why I think it's sad she takes so long between books. Ohh well, this forum helps.... :)
I'm an excellent editor, but not a good creative writer. I do have aspirations to write and illustrate a children's novel but that's a bit of a pipe dream. Anyway, this forum definitely helps me feel like the characters are still alive as I await some resolution in #8. I know what you mean about that sad, sick feeling, but I am ever optimistic and I just know that Jamie and Claire have to make up because there is no way that DG can write a book where they are estranged. (Well, at least she better not!! lol) The only good thing about the next book being so long out is that I will have plenty of time to re-read the entire series plus the LJG books :)
Kimberly wrote: "I'm an excellent editor, but not a good creative writer. I do have aspirations to write and illustrate a children's novel but that's a bit of a pipe dream. Anyway, this forum definitely helps me ..."Well, we'll have to post an add looking for people interested in writing our book #8! hehe It would be kind of fun to start a new topic in which people could write a summery of what they feel might happen in #8, or write what they want #8 to be! Kind of like I did. LOL However mine is due to pain meds & being unable to sleep! What a fool I am! LOL Ohh well, guess I didn't hurt anything except maybe a few peoples idea of what they DON'T want the book to be like. ha
Ohh I so pray it doesn't cause 2-300 pages of bad feelings betwen J & C! Keepin my fingers crossed on that on.
As long as our predictions and ideas don't turn into fan-fiction (which DG loathes), I think that would be fun to see how other people think Book 8 will shape up. In fact, there may already be a thread that's something to that effect...here are A LOT of threads in this group, LOL.Main meds don't sound good...nothing too serious I hope! I rather enjoyed your medication influenced posts, haha :)

The Lord John I know and love would not do such a thing, he is ALL about honor and faith, and plus he is GAY!!! Their affair took both of those characters to a very dark and unsettling place -- is that what DG intended, I wonder?
::spoiler if you havn't read up through voyager::. I'm on book three, and I've been painfully waiting for Jamie and Clair to meet again..
Am I the only one who is devastated, and feels slightly betrayed because Jamie has a child!!! What the heck!
Yes! Me too! Everytime he was mentioned, I kept praying "Don't show up, Dont't show Up". I think that had alot to do with DG portraying him as a spoiled little brat also. But even more devastating and betraying was Jamie marrying Leghair!!!! Boy does DG know how to get your blood boiling!
Melissa wrote: "::spoiler if you havn't read up through voyager::. I'm on book three, and I've been painfully waiting for Jamie and Clair to meet again..

Hi Melissa. I'm on page 800 or so of Voyager. I was not devastated about Jamie's son, probably because the mother dies and has no claims on Jamie. I actually enjoyed the scenes between Jamie and Willie. I am hoping the boy shows up later. I was more upset with the Leghair marriage (sorry if you haven't gotten that far, but the poster above me mentioned it too) :-) But, I can understand why he would remarry since Claire was gone for so long and presumably not coming back. (Do we eventually find out why Leghair was so so uptight with Jamie??) Loving this book and series! I will be sad when I finish Echo and have to wait PAINFULLY for the next installment.
Possible spoiler alert!!!!I am not as upset about Willie as I am Leghair!!! He was blackmailed by Geneva and he wanted so desperately to communicate with his family...and she threatened to tell her father about the letters if he didn't sleep with her...and I am sure he was as he says "burning" since "it" has a mind of "its" own. :) But I hate the fact that he let Jenny badger him into marrying Leghair. I don't like Jenny at all...I think she will cause he and Claire more problems down the road. But the all time two or three things I hate is that he let Leghair tell Claire that he was hers...didn't do a thing, ...just told her to go downstairs and he would speak with her...he should have given her a tongue lashing that would make her head spin. Also, he allowed Marsali to call her a whore and he allowed young Ian to call her a whore...didn't say a word. The third thing is when he came back into the room and Claire wanted to leave and he wouldn't let her...he called her a bitch and a whore himself! Where did that come from????? That was not Jamie in my opinion. I hated that and I hated the fact that when she did come back thinking he was possibly dying he said he didn't want her to come back and no he didn't send for her....when he had said that the reason he didn't tell her about Leghair he would lie, cheat, steal...do whatever to keep her. Didn't float with me. I was devastated and I have read it three times and it STILL devastates me. And why was he so willing to give so much money to Leghair and two girls who weren't even his????? That was not honorable to me to Claire...Claire has to do without for years because he has to pay Leghair....and while I am at it I hated the fact that he was jealous of Leghair's lover. Maybe that is why DG wrote it like she did...to get a reaction from us....and boy did she ever... :(
Another possible spoiler alert!I was torn up by the scenes where he had to give Willie up. In his mind Willie was the only child he had and would ever see. Brianna was in another time...gone from him as far as he knew. Tore me up!
wowsa.... loads of reading (all these MBs)!!!!I re-read the series before hitting EITB... took a while but i got there eventually.
And yup - like loads of you - I am dreading the loooooong wait until the next installment.
Most of you have hit on how i felt about that last book (and then some!!) But yeah - LG and Claire gettin it on was just too *out there* for me also. And the ending waaaaaaaaay too rushed!!!
One slip-up the editors missed (and no-one seems to have mentioned (probably coz its quite irrelevant to anything))... at the end of ABOSAA Claire had re-entered the vege garden 'out of necessity'.... but at the begining of EITB it claims she had never been in the garden since Malvas murder. DOH!
As to the cliffhangers... Loads of ppl querying what's to happen.... here's M2CW...
Jem: He is in a tunnel that WASN'T THERE 200 yrs ago... IF he goes through the time warp - well - that's the end of him (under 200 tonne of earth!) So im guessing (HOPING) nothing is going to happen as far as time-warping. (hey - bree didnt go through when she shot past it)
Roger and Buck: Well - according to the family tree Buck dies at 38 (the age he was when he warped to the future) So *IF* he makes in back through the stones.... he doesn't last long on the other side. I liked the point someone made about Roger thinking about Jem - and Jem being in current time so hence - he (Roger) wouldn't travel BACK in time. (There were some hints towards who Buck was thinking about when he first came through the stones too)
Ohhh - and Im wondering what the issue is with Rogers dad - and where he ended up! Another whole storyline in the making there me thinx!
Jamie and Claire and LJ... well that's one helluva mess that's gonna keep us on our toes I imagine! And Willie coming to terms with his parentage (esp with Jenny putting her oar in no doubt!! *grins*) - all fun and games to come!!
*sigh* Cant wait!!!!!
Possible spoiler alert!!!!!!!Willie is gonna be mad when he figures out that Brianna is his sister...because he feels an attraction to her when he meets her in Echo....best I remember he says to himself that he wishes he could spend more time with her......even though she is married to Roger.
Jamie having a son with someone one other than Claire was hard to accept! He has a child just after a brief "affair" with Geneva. Then has to leave that cherished and much wanted child of his own, whom he can't even acknowledge! This element of the story was extremely sad and heart wrenching! Jamie was so lonely without Claire. He was so out of his element, lost. I think that is how DG justifies and introduces the possibility of Jamie remarrying. Even if we readers are abhorred by it!

and here is the link to Claire's ring:
http://ivmoores.com/claires_ring/clai...
I just got a Claire's ring earlier this month from my husband for an anniversary gift and I absolutely love it!
