What are you currently reading?
Yup my hubby can be smart every once in awhile. I mean he married me! hahahaha! In all seriousness I also have to do that too David (remember I am reading because I love it - which I do! :)
I have looked at Sean Griswold a few times Cassi - let me know if you end up liking it please :)
Just started A Corner of White
- I wish they had it on audiobook because I always enjoy Aussie narration.

I really liked Assassin's Curse! It's very adventurous an it was really different having the story focused on a pirate and an assassin, but it worked really well! I'm looking forward to the next book! And I'm reading Will Grayson on my nook! :)
Thanks for the update on the book Katie. I listened to the audiobook sample and like the narrator so I may give it a listen. I loved Will Grayson on audio but I am sure it is just as good in print - enjoy!

Hahaha!!

I Conquer Britain <-- this one is going so slow. ugh.
Yin Fire <--- this one is really good but isn't a book you can just sit down and read 50 pages at once. You need time to digest
give me advice.. what should i start from this pile:

Kaylani did you not read my earlier post! Reading is not a chore - it is something you should want to do :) Did you finish Book Thief?? The only book I have read in that pile of yours is the DaVinci Code which is not well written at all but I was entertained by it.

Me too! Only read DaVinci Code, which I quite liked :)

I'm all bark Vered! Speak..."
Heh heh! I'm curious to know what you think of Dragon's War. And I know about the bark, but then again, you did do some training back in the day...!

Kaylani wrote: "I know reading isn't a chore. My problem is if I don't make myself pick up a book I just don't and then I get pissed at myself. I like it while I am doing it. I just have to kick my ass to pick ..."
Me too.
Me too.

My problem is getting out of a book once I start!

Depends on where I am at in the book - in the last half I normally don't want to stop but the first 50-100 pages of any book are always a challenge for me to get into the flow of things.

Now...I'm trapped in the dilemma of: do I just jump right into

Darren wrote: "The Game of Thrones show is pretty good. I've only read about a hundred pages of the first book, so I can't really compare them to the show. Maybe, once the show is finished, I'll go and the series."
Except for the MUCH added sexual content I thought season one of the show followed book one pretty well.

I am nearly done with Code Name Verity and think I need to re-read it because I was lost for the first half and now that I know what I know I wish I knew it earlier (if that makes sense!)
Haha yeah Heidi, that definitely makes sense. The first part of it is really confusing.
Anyway, I finished:
It was ... meh. Decent but not that great.
Now I'm going to focus on:
So psyched!

Yesss! I believe its regular publication is on May 7th ... ? (I have an ARC.) Anyway, knowing me and how much I love Rick Yancey I'll probably finish it before it officially comes out. And of course I'll let you know what I think. ;)

No but I've heard good things! Did you like it? Middle grade right?
Haha seriously, I would possibly consider it more adult than middle grade or YA. The main character is 12 in the first book I think, but the subject matter is very dark and it's EXTREMELY graphic and twisted a lot of the time. Like, I actually gagged occasionally at how disgusting it was. It's one of the most disturbing things I've read.
... That said, it's one of my favorite series. :P The writing and the characters are so fantastic.

Haha, oh boy. XD Well, I'll definitely let you all know what I think!

Ahh I love The Outsiders! "Morbid" isn't really the first word that comes to mind ... I guess I think of it as being more "gritty" or "edgy" or whatever. :P Anyway, yeah. Cool book.

Aww sorry Bluemoon, I cried when I wrote that part :(

It's been a long time since I read The Outsiders, but I thought it was more about having to deal with a rough set of circumstances and the good/bad choices these kids make. I agree with Brigid, more edgy than morbid.

I just bought the audio for this on audible (when I went a little crazy) -- can't wait to listen to it!

Hello! You haven't misssed anything. Loved the Outsiders when I read it in HS - no idea if it holds up but you have to give the author props for her young age when she wrote it!

It is super scary and just as Brigid described but I loved it.

Yeah ... I mean, I normally hate horror and I'm really squeamish. But I love those books regardless. The scariness is worth it. :P

I love his Oberon voice!
I love his Oberon voice!

But one book that has met all expectations and more is... The Book Thief! OMG - gorgeous writing. I mean, stunning literary prose, poetic, original - and that's just the writing style. The story itself is also beautiful. Those in this group who have read it know what I mean. Those who haven't... seriously?!
Yay Vered! The Book Thief rocks! The Druid series is just really light and fluffy so I don't take it too seriously -- I also think it is better on audiobook than it is in print.

Great advice! I sometimes get caught in that trap too but I'm getting better at remembering to read for enjoyment and not get stressed about how long it takes to finish each one :)
