Yay! I just bought 11 Anne of Green Gables books (not sure there were even 11!) for 99 cents http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B...

message 4355: by Becky (new)

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I've started Palace of Stone (Princess Academy #2) by Shannon Hale and still need to finish The Book Thief. How is The Maze Runner going, Heidi?

message 4356: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) 11! Wow, I remember reading 5 or 6 when I was a kid.

Ummm I am on part 4 of 8 of Maze Runner and so far am not really into it. Does it improve?

Looks like some are Tales from Avonlea. I have always wanted to visit PEI since I read the books and watched the movies. I think there were like 6-8 Anne books.

Hmm, I'm trying to think where you are in the book. I think it does get better later on when more action starts happening.

Yeahhh, there is a bit more action towards the end. But it also gets pretty ... weird. I can't think of a better word for it. I didn't like the end very much. :P

Oh yeah, so today I started:

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa

I'm about a fourth of the way through, and it's great so far!

I also just started:

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

It's for a class. I'm also liking it so far, although it's kind of dense/confusing, but it gets better the more I get used to it.

Well that doesn't sound encouraging! I am around where Thomas is trying to save Alby (not sure how to spell it since I am listening to the audio) and a Grubber is getting closer and closer to them.

message 4363: by Karen’s Library (new)

Karen’s Library | 574 comments It's a very odd book, Heidi! Overall I liked it because it was so different and not your typical dystopian! I think it gets better in that it starts making a bit more sense. I believe Thomas has been kept in the dark to that point.

message 4364: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Ok I will update later Karen! I only listen to that audiobook while at home (I'm listening to Beautiful Ruins in the car) so it will take me awhile to get through it.

Uhhh I read it years ago so I don't remember who Alby is, but okay. :D

P.S. I like your new username. lol!

and.... there were 2-3 more i need to make sure i read this month. I am pretty sure I am behind right now.

LOL is this for me? I don't have any pets as I'm travelling but I once had a friend who had a dog named Blue lol :) Coincidentally, Blue is the name of the protagonist in The Raven Boys, which I'm reading right now :)

My parents went to PEI and came back with all sorts of Anne of Green Gables paraphernalia! But they said the area is beautiful.

And I like your new name too - I think I might have actually called you a book pimp at some point...

Yes I caved under the peer pressure and changed my name. Some pimp I make! hahahaha So jealous of your parents Vered!

I gave up after the second book. I enjoyed Maze Runner for the most part, but the sequel really disappointed me. There were just too many plot twists that didn't make any sense ...

message 4372: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) The sequel disappointed me too, and the final book was.... well bloody awful, lol. I only gave it 2 stars because I liked Minho.

You gals are not selling me on finishing this one -- especially when I have Scarlet ready to go afterwards!

message 4374: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL, if you are comfortable not reading the rest, finish it. The first wasnt bad and it had a ending that works for a standalone.

I wouldn't read past that though.

I saw it on the new teen fiction shelf at B&N so I downloaded it and it was surprisingly good, or at least better than I was expecting!

David I am glad you said that about Raven Girls -- it makes me feel better about my overall review of it. Now back to the naughty corner where you can enjoy snacks and a recliner (still really rethinking this "punishment"!)

Kaylani (cityeclectics) | 277 comments Heidi apparently slipped into my dreams. I tried to read the book thief in my sleep. Didn't help. But I put it in my dresser, which normally isn't where I put my books. But at least I put it somewhere safe when I was 'done'. haha
