Sweeeeet!! I'm really enjoying Finnikin Heidi, so much so that I bought Jellicoe Road today so I can see a different type of book from her :)

Yes I am super surprised because I think I told you only one library had a copy so I am a lucky girl. It is funny because all of the audiobooks I had on hold at the library and through Overdrive came in this week so now I am overwhelmed! I am half way through Gone Girl and need to find cleaning projects to listen to the rest so I can get started on the other audiobooks that came in.

*bites nails* I am suddenly concerned that David will hate it! Ugh! I hate when you love something so much you just want everyone to feel the same way!

I feel like I have been neglecting my posts here but besides The Star Dwellers I am reading/listening to all cozy mysteries. I am nearly done with Gone Girl Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and will glad when it is done!

message 4319: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 110 comments I read On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta and I'm sure he'll find it good. It didn't strike me quite so much as the ladies seeed to like it (but I think that's because I don't get all gooey with romance in books). So far, that's the only book of hers that I have read. One day I'll probably read another. Poor David. No pressure!!!

I'm still currently chipping away at The Wise Man's Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2) by Patrick Rothfuss . It is a pleasure to read. I really enjoy Patrick Rothfuss. I say chipping away because even when it feels like I've read a giant chunk, I look and find myself 2% further. (It's an almost 1000 page book)

Too little time to read (even in the Naughty Corner). But I take what I can get.

message 4320: by Karen’s Library (new)

Karen’s Library | 574 comments I hear you on the chipping away, Lloyd. Feels like I've been reading World Without End (The Pillars of the Earth, #2) by Ken Follett for weeks! I've read several books in between already!

I liked it! I had watched the mini-series and then read the book. I loved the historical fiction aspect and learning about cathedrals! This 2nd book isn't as good but still interesting!

Sometimes you just need a little sweetness in your life Lloyd! I am so shocked I have not pressured your into reading Finnikin! That would be more up your alley IMO. I can not abide by 1000 page books Llyod - I don't know how you can do it!

Kaylani (cityeclectics) | 277 comments my problem (i know this is going to sound concieted)
is i read far to fast to read all I can possibly read. I can't think about it all that fast hahaha. I can read most novels at about 100 pages per hour. Some up to 3 pages per minute.

It also can be a curse because people hate you when you can sit down 2 hours before a really hard exam and read the chapter for the first time and ace it :|

message 4336: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 110 comments I was rolling along quite content with The Wise Man's Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2) by Patrick Rothfuss , when the author basically pulls a "blah, blah, blah, all this stuff happened but it isn't important to the story so we'll just skip it" (the main character even says as much). I feel kind of stilted about the whole thing. Everything was being revealed to a point, but that's the 2nd time we've breezed by something and it seems a good place for me to set the book aside for now and maybe read a different book.

I'm kind of leaning towards Flesh and Bone (Benny Imura, #3) by Jonathan Maberry at the moment. (It's still early and I'm at work, so things could change by the time I actually get to read tonight) :)

Happy Day everyone!

I have gotten 4 other friends to read it as well. The beginning was really weird at first and I didn't think that I would like it, but once I got past the first two chapters I understood what was going on lol. Now I cannot wait to see the movie when it comes out next month.

I bought it when it first came out and tried at least 4 different times to read it. The farthest I ever got was almost 100 pages. Was cleaning out books and finally put it on eBay last month. Maybe it will be easier to get into the movie!

I'm enjoying it. But then, I enjoyed the first one too. So far I'd rate it as good as the first, certainly. Especially now that you've known the characters awhile. Keeps me turning the pages. Just kind of light, fun reading. :)
