Best books for me were Chaos Walking series and Graceling

message 4202: by Gwennie (last edited Feb 16, 2013 04:55PM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Finnikin and Froi from the Lumatere Chronicles
Chaos Walking
Unwind series
Rot and Ruin and the rest of the Benny Imura books

And that would be my order too, lol.

Unwind is on my to read list (metaphorically, as well as the Goodreads "to-read" list lol). It looks really interesting.

message 4204: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Most people who read it talk about how it was both amazing and disturbing, lol. That pretty much summed up the first book for me.

Cassie (loved43v3r) | 12 comments Haha but you read all the books? Were the later ones different?

What's the Lumatere series about?

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Cassie wrote: "Haha but you read all the books? Were the later ones different?"

You mean Unwind and Unwholly? Unwholly was good, but it didn't pack the punch that Unwind did.

The Lumatere series is more of a Fantasy about war and hatred, and it centers around cursed lands. It's sort of hard to explain, but it is amazing.

There's only two books in the Unwind series so far, and I know there's going to be at least a third. I've read both and they were both amazing ... and disturbing, as Wendy said. But so good. It's the same author as the Skinjacker books, so yeah. ;)

Anyway, so I finished:

Boundless (Unearthly, #3) by Cynthia Hand

EEEEP it was really good. I'm not sure if I'm 100% satisfied with the ending, but it was still a good ending. I'll miss the series! It was a lot of fun.

I'm about to start:

Abarat (Abarat, #1) by Clive Barker Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Nah, Heidi wouldn't like the Unearthly books. I'm pretty positive about that. I loved the first one, but each one got worse for me. (If that's the right book she's in the naughty corner for.) I bet she'd give it 3 stars.

What do you think about Code Name Verity so far? I borrowed it but never got to read it. The dust jacket flap made it sound interesting, though :-)

I haven't read much of Code Name Verity, but I like it so far. The beginning is kind of confusing, but I'm starting to understand what's going on. I've heard only good things about it!

Well ... I don't know. I tend to not like paranormal romance much, but I do like the Unearthly books. The romance isn't insta-love for once, in my opinion, and totally didn't go in the direction I expected. And I disliked Clara in the beginning but she proved to be much cooler than I initially thought she was. I still think Heidi might like them ... but I could be wrong. :P

I just finished Boundless yesterday, btw. I have some mixed feelings about the very ending, but over all I enjoyed it a lot and thought it was a great series as a whole. :) Can't wait until you read it; I want to know what you think!

She might just have to read it so we can see who's right! It can be a sort of game where we all try to guess how many stars she gives it haha!!
