So excited for your thoughts on Finnikin! I know I am pretty shy about my love of Melina but I kind of like her :)

I can't get into it because I just can't seem to remember the characters.

This is why I'm reading it!! :) Kept putting it off for one reason or the other. So glad I'm reading now. It's really intriguing!
I don't need it back Kournti because I won't be re-reading it for years (if I even do) so if you think you will read it anytime in the future just keep it. It took me about 1/2 of Froi to faintly remember anything of Finnikin and then 1/2 of Quintana before I remembered anything from Froi! I wish I read them all back to back instead of one per year!

Aww thank you so much!! I was wondering why I saw a little spike in sales LOL, it's all from this group! Thanks for all the support and I hope you enjoy the read :)

Omg we are so book best friends when it comes to Chaos Walking. I'm so addicted that it's becoming a distraction from getting Fire Country finished! Oh and thanks again Kourtni for the shout out and support, it means the world to me :)
Heidi (up to no good) wrote: "Well deserved David! Are you and your wife still traveling around?"Aww thank you :)
Yes, we are LOVING it. It's so nice to spend every day with Adele even though most of the day I'm lost in one of the worlds I'm creating lol! We are 7 months into our 2 year trip and are currently in Tulum, Mexico :) We have a month here and then back to the U.S. to visit family before heading to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. Then it's on to Africa, Europe and Asia! It's definitely the trip (and opportunity) of a lifetime :)
That sounds wonderful David! My hubby and I were together for 4 days last week when I was sick and he was on vacation and we about murdered each other from the togetherness! I don't think we could do what you and Adele are doing but I envy your ability to do it! :)
LOL, Heidi! Then again, you were sick.David, I hope you're keeping notes of your trip - that might be a book worth writing one day. And if by any chance you stop off in Kenya, please let me know! Would love to meet you.
@David - You're very welcome! Heidi's right, it is well deserved! I'll be looking forward to see what you think about Monsters of Men. I'm itching to do a re-read just hearing about someone else reading it!@Heidi - Alright I will keep it a little while. I graduate in 15 weeks (not that I'm counting or anything) and plan to read ALOT of what I want to read :)!!

Oh no it is always like that after a few days of us being together. We turn into 10 year old Bart Simpsons or something - picking at each other ("Ow quit it"). I still love him though :)

A lot of my friends are big fans of him. This was my first book of his that I've read ... I should look into his other stuff, although I've heard some of it is pretty nasty. (I mean, Fight Club is nasty too, but at least I was pretty much prepared for it having seen the movie, lol.)

Aww thanks, I'll let you know, we still have to plan most the trip, we're doing it in pieces so we can stay flexible. And yes, Adele is keeping notes and writing a book about our trip :)

Yay! Another Chaos addict :) Our pushing worked!
Yay! Another Chaos addict :) Our pushing worked!
@ Heidi.. You guys are why I read Chaos! I remember I kept getting recommendations from GR and my Nook to read Knife. I kept thinking the software was broken, why would I read a book called The Knife of Never Letting Go? Hahah... Once I got in this group and saw all the Chaos pushers, I gave in! Sooooo incredible. Now I pay attention to everything this group recommends! I've found so many amazing authors and books, including Moon Dwellers, David. From THIS group! ;-)
LOL these are the best kind of book pushers, the ones who read awesome books! And thanks re *shhh The Moon Dwellers*
Kourtni - I've been in a reading funk lately too. I'm currently reading
at my wife's request. It's not bad, but I'm already starting to get a little bored. I think I'm just in a funk in general. I'm also picking away through a couple other books. Just keep looking for the one that hooks me. For now...Gone Girl because my wife says "it's good!". (She also reads about 4 or so books a week, while I'm lucky to get one a month)
Ok, so I FINALLY wrote blurbs for all my December reads. Yikes, it's a lot of work staying offline for so long!
- 3 stars, woman uses a bizarre way to exact revenge on cheating husband
- 5 stars, brilliantly funny, here's my review on it: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
- 4 star, fun read, not what I expected
- 3 star
- 5 star, don't wait for Christmas to read it!
- 4 star, I think I heard too much hype about it before reading it
- 5 star, love this series!!!
- 5 star, great if you like X-Men sort of thing
- 4 star, good but not the best one
- 3 star

For the past few years (excluding last year) I have had no trouble finding 5 star books. Maybe its my own fault for not researching my reads better. I really don't know. I'm hoping The Moon Dwellers series pulls me out of this funk. I would hate to finish the series and go right back into my funk. I am lucky to read a book a month when school is in full swing.

Hi Lloyd *waves* sorry for your reading funk. I get those myself sometimes. If it weren't for audiobooks my amount of books read would be a lot lower. I have been reluctant to read Gone Girl because it seeems like a love it or hate it type book and those are generally bad news for me.

Wow that is a lot of books! btw Hounded is much better on audiobook. I was wondering if it would be as good in print so that answers my question. Either way it is pretty light reading.

Finished:
It was ... eh. Cool premise––but too much insta-love, too much slut-shaming, and the pacing was really weird especially towards the end. So, I don't think I'll continue with the series.
Now starting:
AT LAST! I'm so excited. :)

Just finished
. Definitely more raw than the usual YA fantasy book. And so grateful there wasn't a love triangle. It was a really good book and I'm still pondering it.Next up will be Night Circus.

Yay hope you liked Finnikin. I highly recommend Melina's other books On the Jellicoe Road if you haven't read it. Can't wait for your thoughts on Night Circus.

David, I felt the same way at the end of Monsters of Men. I remember being in Chaos withdrawals!

SO glad you loved Chaos Walking David. Such a great series!
Oh my gosh... It's apparently been a long week with 12 hour work days. I just realized I read Jellicoe Road a few weeks ago.. All of a sudden the story came rushing into my head a few minutes ago. Hahahah... Sooo good!
Heidi - yup, I had much higher expectations for Hounded. Brigid - I detest insta-love stories. I've started doing serious eye rolling at all the sappy romance stuff that plagues YA. Although on the plus side, eye rolling is really good for strengthening eye muscles - I'm 41 and still don't have to wear glasses. Just saying.

Yay! I always warn people to give it 100 pages or more because the whole first half is confusing as heck!
