I loved that book - the movie not so much. Probably a case of comparing the book to the movie since I read it first.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Its been a while since I've had time to post about what I'm reading!!

Finished UnWholly (Unwind, #2) by Neal Shusterman and liked it a lot. Not as good as the first but definitely worth the read. Now I'm reading Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake . Its good but sometimes it gets really creepy when I'm laying in bed reading in the dark.

I haven't started the Darkness Rising series yet. Gotta do it!

Hey just wanted to share that I contacted our October read Rot & Ruin author Jonathan Mayberry to tell him his book was our next read and he send the following message back

"How delightful!

I'm currently on the road for a national book tour in support of FLESH & BONE, the 3rd book (of 4) in the series. And we just sold the movie rights to the series.

If you have any questions, let me know.

-Jonathan"

How exciting for him about the movie rights :) Yay!

Ooh, that is awesome news! He's a cool guy ... A few months ago he participated in a #yalitchat on Twitter and said a lot of awesome things. Also one of my friends knows him from some sort of young writers group, which is how I heard about his books in the first place. :)

I don't think I have ever read a Dean Koontz novel. I tend to shy away from a lot of best selling writers because it seems like most of the time what is popular is not my thing (especially Nicholas Sparks). How is he as an author??

message 3223: by David (new)

I have. In early high school, he was one of my favorite authors. I read the original Sword of Shannara trilogy and his Landover novels. I kind of burned out on fantasy though, and never got around to any of his other books. (Though I might one of these days)

Ahhh I didn't know there was a trailer already! I just went and watched it ... Hmm. Looks like it could be alright. (And they used a Florence + the Machine song in the trailer ... Squeeee.) Anyway, it's been a few years since I read the book but I remember liking it. It was really long, but I remember being pretty addicted to it. It was fun. XD
