Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Whats to hate about fairies??? Nevermind don't answer that. I don't want you haters ruining my love!

Currently reading Against the Gods The Remarkable Story of Risk by Peter L. Bernstein for school and Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian for fun and slowly working on Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta ...very slowly.

They (fairies) are just not my thing Kournti but as you know I am not into a lot of paranormal beings! Froi is a slow starter -- it took me 1/2 the book to get into it.

message 3154: by Becky (new)

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I finally finished The Dragon's Eye (Erec Rex, #1) by Kaza Kingsley .

I just got Over Sea, Under Stone (The Dark Is Rising, #1) by Susan Cooper from the library.

And fairies are so-so for me. My issues with The Iron King stemmed more from the protagonist than from the settings.

I am listening to The Curse of the Wendigo The Curse of the Wendigo (The Monstrumologist, #2) by Rick Yancey

message 3156: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think Seth got grounded for sneaking out to go to the library. I think he got grounded for sneaking out, then went to the library even though he is grounded. ;) I thought my teenagers would be the death of me but I survived. And so did they. Barely. Haha!

Seth - Keep reading Iron King. The Fae Court part is the hardest part to get through.

Checked out Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead from the library using Overdrive. Was putting this one off because I love VA so much but Seth's post inspired me to get it.

Yes. That is how I read it. He was already grounded and he snuck out and now he was going to be in even more trouble. Guess we will get an update in a few weeks hahaha :)

Raquel | 5 comments I'm reading Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent . I'm listening to the audiobook. I'm really enjoying it. I also want to read Reflection by Jessica Roberts and Promises by Amber Garr

Yay! Love audiobooks :)

Agreed. All the social media and texting - no thanks!

message 3164: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments Haha about my grounded-ness ... I snuck out, then was banned from using the computer/hanging out with friends. My parents don't really care/know that I go to the library, so they haven't grounded me from that haha :D
There seemed to be some confusion so I thought I'd clear that up!

message 3165: by [deleted user] (new)

Seth - I got it the first time around. I've raised two teenage boys so I've go the routine down. ;) Now, quit sneaking out! :P

Shannen and Kournti - any thoughts on the new Kindle Fire??

message 3169: by [deleted user] (new)

Nope. None. Nada. Since I finally figured out Overdrive, I'm wishing I had bought another tablet and not a Kindle Fire. No Overdrive in Amazon apps. :(

I got Overdrive ebooks for my step mom for her Fire but they are not able to get WMA audiobooks which is a huge no no for me. I am sticking with my little ipod touch for now!

message 3171: by Charmaine (new)

Charmaine (empress_charla) | 143 comments I recently found out that most if not all of the WMA audiobooks from Overdrive from my library ebooks system can be transferred to my iPod touch, so that discovery made me happy :-)

message 3172: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Well, now that Seth's situation is clear...
I just finished ALPHASHOCK (fun, adrenalin pumped SciFi) and have started Shades of Gray.

Oh yes I do that all the time - it takes longer than to transfer onto my sansa clip because it has to go through itunes (slowest system known to man) but it is doable.

I put the Overdrive app on both my step mother and mother in laws devices (they are both yet to use the app even though it has been over 6 months!)

message 3177: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't see the Overdrive app in the Amazon apps. Will look again.

Hmmm I am 100% sure I set it up for both of them because they both had to get library cards for me to do it!

Shannen! I just remembered what I did!!! I went to the actual overdrive website on their Kindle Fires and loaded it that way.

OK. Thanks! I'll give that a try. That will make me very happy! :)

I read it many moons ago. All I remember is that it was sad!

Rising looks good, David. I bought it for my Nook and started reading! Keep at it with The Passage... That one's a favorite of mine!

I think there was a mix up here because GR changed the book cover -- David read the book Rising NOT the Shadow Rising. Not sure why GR changes book covers from post to post like that.

Shannen did you get the Overdrive app? http://overdrive.com/files/Kindle-eBo...

I haven't tried downloading it yet. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep my Fire or sell it. I have been reading on my phone and haven't used the Fire for a month. I will be getting the new iPhone which will have much better battery life than my current phone so not sure if I need the Fire anymore.

I could see that. I read on my ipod touch ALL the time (unlike my android cell phone which sucks to read on). Between the Touch and my regular Kindle I am satisfied (I would sure love the newest Ipod Touch though -- it looks sweet!)
