I loaned my copy of Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning out a few months ago and I think I may never see it again.... I'm going to go beg to get it back and start reading it too!!!

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments Just finished The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa and am now reading The Riddle (Pellinor, #2) by Alison Croggon . I have a few Goodreads Firstreads books to read, too. *sigh* So many books, so little time.

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I just finished Stunning (Pretty Little Liars, #11) by Sara Shepard

Kourtni - You better do a beatdown on the person who isn't returning it. Haha! I'm not very far into the re-read but it is interesting reading it from the perspective of knowing who/what everyone is.

I'm not really that far into it, I just can't get into the story. Will tread through it though."

Bluemoon I just finished the audio and it took me about 5 CD's until I was really into it (out of 10 total so about half). IMO it really picked up when Kearnes (sp?) showed up. His character is delicious. I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, it does take a while to get good. I didn't really like it until I got about halfway through or more. And the second and third books are better, IMO. :)

Anyway, I'm currently reading:

The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1) by Maureen Johnson

Ehh, I have mixed feelings about it so far. I have like 100 or so pages left. I like it, but it took a while for it to get interesting. And even so it's kind of ... strange.

I've been meaning to read that one, too. I'll try to borrow that one soon. Seems like a bunch of people aren't so crazy about it.

Now reading Romeo and Juliet. Recently finished "Perfect" from the Pretty Little Liars series (the add book/author thing isn't working for me now)

Charmaine (empress_charla) | 143 comments Bluemoon, I am just reading it for fun :-) I enjoy reading classics and haven't read much Shakespeare - just the Merchant of Venice and some of The Tempest. Read a little of the Taming of the Shrew.

Thank you for the suggestion :-) have you heard an audiobook version of it or just read the book?

Mackenzie | 55 comments Reading: For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund It's slow going and not much is happening action wise, but it's still intriguing and has a beauty to it. I really like Elliot and her curious and intellectual nature. On the other hand, I want to smack Kai across the face. Ugh...what a jerk!

This morning I finished:

Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand

I actually ended up liking it. Which was strange, because I kind of hated it when I started it. Haha.

Now I'm working on:

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

It's ... hmm. Yeah, I'm not really sure what I think, yet. Definitely quite different from the original story. Haha.

I'm done with this just now, and I really like this series, though I think Cassel's cons were more funny in White cat :) What do you think about Red Glove Heidi?

KAREN: I also never thought I'd like a book about zoms until I read Rot & Ruin! <3

Will be starting Black Heart (Curse Workers, #3) by Holly Black later

Bitterblue is soooooooooo slow right now. Nothing is happening! Glad you are liking The Monstrumologist - I really enjoyed it once Kearnes (or whatever his name is) showed up.

message 2993: by Mackenzie (new)

Mackenzie | 55 comments BLUEMOON: I ended up really liking it! The beginning was quite slow and I almost DNFed but I'm glad I stuck to it. However, the book is more political. Don't expect a lot of action until the end. If you don't mind court intrigue and all that jazz then I think you'll enjoy it. It's definitely a complicated high fantasy with many details. And yes, it's daunting :P I'd read it if you have a lot of time, love fantasy, and don't mind politics. If you don't like that then you may not enjoy it.

I agree, Heidi. I was disappointed in that epilogue. She could have just ended it with that last chapter, which had a more powerful and open-ended conclusion. And then when I turned the page and saw the epilogue I was like, "Wow, that just totally ruined it." Haha. Of course, I wasn't a big fan of the book in general. I thought it was okay but not great.
