If you'd want to read something similar to Angelfall, maybe try The Knife of Never Letting Go or Blood Red Road. :)

Emma (emnor) Right now I'm reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett . I know it's not exactly young adult, but it's what I'm currently reading......

Perfection *Sherlock's Girl* | 11 comments Who would have thought a book I approached with such little expectations would end up so interesting??!!
The Vampire Shrink (Kismet Knight, Ph.D., Vampire Psychologist #1) by Lynda Hilburn

I liked it but for some reason it did not creep me out like everyone else. It takes me a lot to get creeped out by a book though.

message 2664: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Heidi: It was only one part of the book that creeped me out and I think it was because I read it in the dark while laying in bed lol. After that one creepy part nothing else has bothered me.

message 2665: by [deleted user] (new)

I stopped after Beautiful Creatures too. I liked it well enough but got to reading other series that I liked so much more. The movie has an all-star cast: Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson and Viola Davis. The actors playing Ethan and Lena are unknowns to me.

How do books like that get movies and not books like Melina Marchetta's books? Man that frustrates me. The Book Thief should have been a movie years ago! Ugh!

message 2667: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Agreed! Aren't they making MI into movies now too?

Kourtni don't you think Jacky would make a great movie?

message 2670: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Haha! Definitely!

message 2671: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think Melina's books would translate well into movies. There are several books that I love but I don't think should be movies just because it seems it would be too difficult to make them really GOOD movies.

Beautiful Creatures might be a better movie than book, especially with the cast that's lined up.

I just get upset about certain authors getting a bog pay day but to be honest sometimes it is just nice to keep certain books all to myself (and my GR peeps!)

I wish all these newly found dystopian lovers would read the Chaos Walking series The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness - it is better than Hunger Games IMO (and I liked HG a lot).

Heidi-I'm starting The Knife of Never Letting Go, now it's been on my TBR list for so long. I wish i was a faster reader! I am glad to hear it's a great series, you have also convinced me to try the Mediator series I picked some up today. As for Melina Marchetta books, if they did go to movie I don’t know if I would get as emotional as I did in the books. I think some of the feeling was lost in translation for HG too.

Darren- I am so looking forward to the movie too. I was looking at the cast and was surprised to see Emma Thompson play Mrs. Lincoln and Sarafine?? At first I was thinking I missed or forgot something. Then I figured, eh its Hollywood.

I am also listening to The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

I think I'll start Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi since it's the April book. Then maybe Starters (Starters, #1) by Lissa Price or The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness

Bluemoon I wouldn't say it is low key. I read more last night and got a little creeped out again. But I am not used to reading books like this. I guess I was suprised by some of the gore. But I don't think it takes away from the book at all. I still like it so far, its just different for me.

Good point about the movies not being as emotional as the book. Movies tend to screw the books up anyway! Hope you like the Mediator series. You have to be used to Meg Cabot -- if you don't like her writing style it may not be your thing so let me know what you think! What I like about her books is that they are clean and appropriate for all teens (no sex, drugs, etc..) They are just nice light reads. Hope TKONLG picks up more for you! I am telling you book two hooked me - I was a believer after that.
