Yeah I'm thinking its the characters that are the problem. I can usually handle cheesy unless the characters aren't doing it for me. I will keep reading on though!

Kourtni - Keep reading on! I liked it.

I've heard of those ... but I've heard such mixed things about them that I've kind of stayed away from them.

Opinions? I just started it.

I read it a few months ago and I really enjoyed it! Its kind of "out there", but thats my thing so I liked it.

I listened to Night Circus on audiobook because I love the narrator Jim Dale. If you like artsy descriptive books it is for you - either way though I think it is worth the read.

I love dystopian fiction, especially of the ya variety! :-) I put Angelfall on my to-read list :-)

I read this book a while ago. I enjoyed it although I felt it was a little dry 2/3s of the way through.
Or maybe it was lack of editing.. Im not sure. If I could rate it 3 and a half stars I would have.
As for it being "Out there"... That's why it is fiction~fantasy
I hope you enjoy it!

I have never listened to a audio book. But it sounds like something Id wouldn't mind trying. Although I love reading.. Do you do both read and audio? Is audio popular?

message 2567: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberlynnee) | 26 comments I am reading A discovery of Witches. I am becoming very impatient with this book.. Too many overly described details and nothing important has happened.. I am half way through!

Amber do I do audio? Um...yes! I listen to 2-3 audiobooks at a time! I love them but I suggest you start with one that others love because if you are not used to them and get a dry narrator it could turn you off the all audiobooks in general. If you want any ideas let me know :)

message 2570: by [deleted user] (new)

Teralee - Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee !!!

message 2571: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Need to read Maine by J. Courtney Sullivan for book club but I think I'm going to start Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James instead

Currently reading:

Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quiñonez

It's for a class, though. :P It's an okay book so far ... I'm just confused as to whether it's supposed to be a retelling of The Great Gatsby or if it's just a total rip-off. :-/

I have tried to read my magazines my elliptical at home and it was an epic failure! I have also read while out walking but people tend to look at me weird and it is hard to concentrate. What type of books do you like Amber? I highly recommend The Bloody Jack series on audio Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy as well as Graceling. My all time favs are The Help and Harry Potter Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I also really love the Georgia Nicholson series on audio Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging.

I loved Chaos Walking (Knife of Never Letting Go). After that everything dystopian has been a let down. Damn you Patrick Ness!

message 2583: by [deleted user] (new)

Hunger Games and Chaos Walking are the best dystopian series. Was Angelfall a let down for you, Heidi?

message 2584: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Oh no. I liked Angelfall, but it wasn't what I would consider 100% dystopian. It was quite unique.

message 2585: by [deleted user] (new)

That's true. Paranormal dystopian?

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I thought Divergent was really good! The idea was quite interesting. I got totally caught up in the action and excitement of it all and that is what made me love it.

That being said, I had a few of my GR friends that didn't like it at all. But the things that bothered them simply don't bother me when I read...I read for entertainment value!

I didn't hate it by any means. I just think it was overrated because people wanted it to be the next Hunger Games or something. Hopefully the second book will answer all of the questions that book one left unanswered. I don't plan to read it unless someone who didn't totally love book one says book two is awesome.

message 2589: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Yes, see I didn't go into the book thinking it was the next Hunger Games. I think I would have been VERY disappointed if I had. I am definitely looking forward to some answers in the next book though!

I believe it is released at the beginning of May, along with a slew of other books I want to read!

message 2593: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm halfway through Spell Bound (Hex Hall, #3) by Rachel Hawkins . I wish Sophie didn't have to choose between Archer and Cal. I like them both. Can't they be brother husbands???

message 2594: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Hahaha! What a wonderful solution to love triangles! Thats about where I am in Spell Bound. Its pretty good so far.

message 2595: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never had a problem taking sides in love triangles. Sophie and Archer are meant for each other but Cal is so darn sweet.

I did like the whole idea of Divergent. I think perhaps that is what the let down was for me because I wanted to know more about the world but perhaps more info will be given in the sequel.
