Ah, I haven't read that one. My favorite is Coraline. :)

It has some scary parts but nothing SUPER scary. More like Anna is really violent and when she kills people it's in a gruesome way. I don't know what your level of scary is but I didn't think it was too over the top, especially since it's a YA book

I liked Neverwhere more than Graveyard Book. I really liked Angelfall.

I have heard mixed things about that one so I am holding off -- let me know what you think. Are you in IL now??

Oh yeah. I've also been debating over whether or not I should read that...

Yay! So happy that you liked Angelfall, Heidi!

I'm really liking the Iron Fey series and just finished The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2) by Julie Kagawa . Very fantasy which normally isn't my kind of thing but they are good books.

MACKENZIE: I gave it 3 stars – liked it. But, I think, beside from getting away from the mansion, they didn't accomplish much.

The 3rd book is interesting. Fever ended up with a cliffhanger. The thing I am looking forward to is on the next book, not in Fever!

Not too much thoughts ^_~

message 2511: by [deleted user] (new)

Currently reading Defiance (Significance, #3) by Shelly Crane which I think is the last book in the series. It's a good indie PNR series.

I finished Shatter Me yesterday, and ... errrm. I strongly disliked it. :/ I'm kind of tired of "dystopian" books that are actually just paranormal romances set in the future. Argh.

Last night I started Cinder. Don't really have an opinion yet since I've only read like two pages. But I like the premise already.

Also I'm almost done with Daughter of the Forest. Man, this book has taken me forever to read. But it's really good. :)

Thanks for letting me know! Some people fell in love with it and others were like you, saying that nothing was really accomplished. I have a feeling its more of a "filler" book. Hm...o well. I'm gonna read it as part of a Catch Wither Fever read-along I just now know to borrow it from the library :D thanks!!

Ohh the rating is lower than I normally go with YA books, but then again several higher rated books sucked for me.

It is currently slow for me. And there is nothing extraordinary (yet). I'm just halfway through it. Maybe it has a surprising action on the next half, or a twist. hehe I am really hoping for that because I am expecting a lot from this book even if it has a low rating - as you and Brigid noted :)

I finally finished Daughter of the Forest! Ahhh the ending was so sweet. And it was so good. I'll have to ask my friend to lend me the other books in the series. :)

I just started Tim Gunn's book, Gunn's Golden Rules: Life's Little Lessons for Making It Work. It's not YA ... or fiction ... but it's light reading which I figure I can finish in a day or two before I continue with Cinder.

I'm all about sharing Brigid! I love to share books with actual readers! I have given too many books to family or friends who only read like one book per year (hence one of my new pictures!)

Emma (emnor) Right now I'm rereading my copy of The Demon King (Seven Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima . It's good! I haven't gotten a chance to go to the library in FOREVER so I'm just going back through all the books I own..... :D

Keep reading, Jessica. The first part is a little tough to get through but once you get to the girl, it is amazing from there on out.

A disappointment, yeah. I was hoping it would be more intense than that. It was written in a journal/letter form which adds to the reason why it seems too slow for me. From the first letter, I was wondering who was this Leo she (Kaelyn) was referring to. I wanted to know him more and I guess I fail to connect with either of both.

I haven't tried the Booktown series Bluemoon because people either really like it or don't like it at all. How are your liking it?

I am ALWAYS reading or listening to at least one cozy. Right now I am listening to two audiobooks of them Foul Play (Sofie Metropolis, #3) by Tori Carrington and Bury Your Dead (Armand Gamache, #6) by Louise Penny . And I am reading Die Job by Lila Dare in print.

Mackenzie | 55 comments DNF: Starters (Starters, #1) by Lissa Price its not that it was bad, because it wasn't. It just wasn't phenomenal either. Part of the problem I didn't finish was because I'm kind of in a reading slump so I will pick it up again...eventually. I would probably give it a 3 unless the ending was just so surprising it made up for the "okay-ness".

Currently Reading: Dragonswood by Janet Lee Carey I'm actually liking it! Hope in continues to be good :)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Still reading Shadows (Lux, #0.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout . I remember liking the first one a lot more. Its getting extra corny. Maybe the first one was just as corny but I liked the characters more? I just don't know...

message 2550: by [deleted user] (new)

Kortni - I think the first one was better but Shadows is almost like a little novella, not a real book. I still liked it but am hoping the next one is better.
