Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Where have all the people gone?? Come back!

Existence has been all over my recommendations on Amazon lately but I keep ignoring it because I have so many other books I want to read! You'll have to let me know what you think Shannen.

message 2352: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll definitely let you know. I'm all over these indie authors right now. :)

message 2353: by Reading (new)

Reading | 1 comments just finished Fever (The Chemical Garden, #2) by Lauren DeStefano the ending kills
just started TimeRiders by Alex Scarrow

message 2354: by Mackenzie (new)

Mackenzie | 55 comments READER: I can't wait to read Fever but I've heard some really mixed feelings on it. Did you like it?

Just finished Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead and am just kinda eh about it. I have a love/hate relationship with it.

I'm currently reading Cross My Heart by Sasha Gould from Netgalley and I'm only about 15% through and its alright. Nothing special yet.

I'm here Kourtni, I'm here! I have nothing new to report though. Still listening to Night Circus (curiouser and curiouser) and the rest of my books are cozies.

Ok I lied. I am also reading the YA book Front and Center (Dairy Queen, #3) by Catherine Gilbert Murdock .

message 2357: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Mackenzie: I really liked the Vampire Academy books, but they are incredibly frustrating at times. If they had all been out when I read them it might not have been so bad, but they were all so cliffhangery.

Heidi: I reeeeally want to know how you end up liking Night Circus. While I was reading it I was thinking "man this is sooo cool! But I bet lots of people won't like it". I don't exactly have a reason for thinking that, just a feeling I suppose.

Bridget (bridgethw) | 52 comments I am currently reading Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare . I like it so far and wish I could find more sit down and read time. I also recently finished listening to Galore by Michael Crummey and started the audio of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak . I didn’t care too much for Galore but I am liking The Book Thief so far it grabbed my attention from the very beginning.

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Yay! Book Thief on audio is excellent and if you like it right away that is great because a lot of people are put off by Death as the narrator at first :) I did buy the book in print afterwards so I could look at some of the pictures (you will know what I mean later).

message 2360: by Rolenda (last edited Feb 26, 2012 03:26AM) (new)

Rolenda (len12) | 89 comments I finished reading Dust & Decay. I love Tom Imura! And I love Jonathan Maberry!
Now I will finally start with Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver !! I thought the release date is on the 28th but it was already available so I grabbed a copy last 21st. I am so excited and nervous. You know, Lauren O. :D

message 2361: by Rolenda (new)

Rolenda (len12) | 89 comments I changed my mind.. I'll reread Delirium first haha

I read Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead I actually read the whole series, it was ok, not the worst series. I gave them all 4 out of 5 stars. But if you don't like the first one I don't think it will get much better for you, they all ready about the same.

message 2363: by [deleted user] (new)

Im currently reading The Hunger Games so that I can see the movie in time. Im 1/3 of the way through and im just blown away lol

message 2364: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Bluemoon: Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee is next up on my list. You'll have to let us know how you like it when you finish!

Bridget: I love love LOVED The Book Thief!! Though I didn't listen to it on audio and I hear it is ever better listening to it. Enjoy!!

message 2365: by Bridget (last edited Feb 27, 2012 08:44AM) (new)

Bridget (bridgethw) | 52 comments Heidi- Death narrating is exactly what I liked about it right away. The reader is doing a fantastic job of bringing the book to life as well, which I guess is an odd thing to say of Death :-)

Kourtni- I am glad I went with the audio. All those German words would have had me tongue tied and looking up how to pronounce them constantly.

message 2366: by [deleted user] (new)

I started Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee last night and so far, I think this might be a book that even Heidi will like. ;) Once I finish it, I will give my final recommendation.

That is the best part of the audiobook - the way the narrator says all those swear words. Love it! I called my hubby a saukerl for months.

Although I'm only about 1/4 of the way through Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee , I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Penryn is a lot like Katniss. I think that readers who loved The Hunger Games and Chaos Walking series will like this book too. It's been hard to put down.

I did the same thing to my husband! I had him saying it for a while too LoL!!

message 2377: by [deleted user] (new)

Bluemoon - Some of the scenes had a Hunger Games or Chaos Walking feel to me. I'm halfway through it and got to a scene that kind of freaked me out. Eek!

message 2378: by [deleted user] (new)

The scene in the forest with (view spoiler). FREAKY!

message 2379: by [deleted user] (new)

It just gets freakier and freakier! (Is that a word?!)

Jessica (BlogEared Books) (blogearedbooks) | 10 comments I need help! I am about 1/3 of the way through the first Chaos walking book and it is not grabbing me! I had really high expectations because of all of the glowing reviews, but i keep picking other things up. I need some encouragement The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness

message 2381: by [deleted user] (new)

Keep reading, Jessica! It is SO worth it! The Chaos books are just really heavy reading.

I am almost done with Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee , Heidi so let me know when you want me to send it your way. I had to stifle screams while reading it at work today.

I bought it! It was only 99 cents and has 5 stars on Amazon so I figured "whats a buck?" I hope it is awesome!

I actually put the book down after about 100 pages and wasn't going to finish it. I decided to pick it back up after some encouragement and I'm SO glad I did. It is now one of my favorite series! Keep at it!

Finished Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee . OMGosh! I thought it was soooo good and I hope I'm not the only one. Read it sooner rather than later, ladies!

I'm finally going to finish reading Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward . The parts with the Lessers are such a turn off that this series is hard to read. I just want to know about the BDB men and their ladies.

message 2392: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Haha! That is my FAVORITE BDB book Shannen! I skip over the lesser parts when I get sick of them. Nobody cares about the lessers! Bring on the Brothers!!

I agree! Z's book is my favorite. I always skipped the lessers too (except in one book because he was crazy and entertaining!)
