It's called imagination Shannen! Just make it up and pretend it happened! hahaha

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 148 comments That's the conclusion I came to as well. Agree with Shannen, Carly was annoying at times, and I too loved Ryan. But mostly, I have to say I enjoyed Danny. What a fun kid!

BTW... you devoured that book Shannen! I miss the days when I could do that. Glad you liked it and sorry I held onto it for so long...

Shorter? That's blasphemy!

message 2255: by [deleted user] (new)

I think what Carly went through was real so I wasn't really annoyed with her but the end of the book was anti-climactic for me. I just needed more. Probably would have been a 5 star for me with a better ending. I loved Danny too. What a great kid.

Brittany - No worries about how long it took. I forgot all about it. :)

Heidi - I'm going to ship the books back to you without reading Froi unless they are supposed to go to someone else first. Just let me know. Thank you for sharing these with us!

What?! You must read Froi! I don't need it back anytime soon seriously.

I am listening to Uncommon Criminals (Heist Society, #2) by Ally Carter and Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor on audiobook.

message 2258: by Charmaine (new)

Charmaine (empress_charla) | 143 comments Heidi: I like both of those books, but enjoyed "Uncommon Criminals" more. :-) Which do you like better so far?

message 2259: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
I am enjoying both but DOS&B is just plain weird so far so I would have to give the edge to Uncommon Criminals. It is early days though so that could change.

Here's the deal with Froi...it's HUGE! If I wait another month, I can get it on my Kindle and not hav eto hold a huge book. Besides, the hubby is going to want to read it too. It's a dilemma for sure but the longer I have a Kindle, the more I dislike a DTB.

message 2261: by Rolenda (new)

Rolenda (len12) | 89 comments I finished reading Ship Breaker (Ship Breaker, #1) by Paolo Bacigalupi a few days ago and Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi just now. << A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2) by Beth Revis

Shannen, I''ll be honest, Froi is why it took me so long to get the books to you. But you must have some willpower to have it in your possession and pass for a whole almost 2 months.

I had to work myself up to read Froi and it was slow going the first 150 pages or so because I was like "what?" and "who?" but one I got past the first 200 pages I devoured it.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 148 comments Agreed. It took me a long time to figure out (view spoiler)

message 2265: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 37 comments I'm finally getting to Blood Red Road and I'm almost done. I'm listening to it and have about 1 hour left. I can't think of a more abnoxious main character. If she doesn't stop pushing everyone away and thinking she can do it all on her own, I'll have to scream. Really, there's only one hour left and I want to strangle her. Will she ever learn?

message 2266: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished Blood Past (Warriors of Ankh #2) by Samantha Young . This is turning out to be a good indie series and it's cheap on the Kindle. Are you listening, Kourtni and Brandi? :)

I don't remember being so bothered by that?? I guess I felt bad for her or something. Overall I thought the book was good but it was no Chaos Walking.

Just started Chain Reaction (Perfect Chemistry, #3) by Simone Elkeles . Finally. Yay!

Adding these to the TBR list Shannen!

Yay! The first book made my stomach turn a little because Eden's father is a soul eater/serial killer but I'm glad I kept reading.

Brandi Starting one of our Feb. books The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1) by Maureen Johnson . Just finished The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater and loved it.

Emma (emnor) I have been reading Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie for like a month now... Seriously, I got it in December. And it's an express item in the library, which means that I can't renew it.... Which also means I probably have a huge pile of fines :(

message 2274: by Brandi (new)

Brandi Started The Edumacation of Jay Baker by Jay Clark and I'm hoping it's going to get better. I'm a fan of pop culture references, but this is so jam packed with them I can't tell what I'm reading half the time. The author references half the fast-food chains in existent by name within two paragraphs (and I'm only slightly exaggerating).

Like what Heidi said, I'm curious to know your opinion about the book, too, Emma! I really hope you don't have any fines (library fines annoy me when I get them)! I've read that book and enjoyed it, but it wasn't as interesting as the first book. I hope the 3rd book is just as good or better than the 1st one! :-)

Yes! I can always count on you for some good indie recommendations!

message 2282: by [deleted user] (new)

The first book turned my stomach a little because Eden's father is a monster and likes to torture people. They don't get descriptive, just Eden dealing with her emotions of knowing what goes on in the basement.

message 2283: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Ick. Well..as long as it isn't descriptive I should be okay.

I am slowly making my way through The Son of Neptune (Heroes of Olympus, #2) by Rick Riordan . I really missed Percy! It was a little slow for me at first but it gets better and better the more I read.

message 2284: by [deleted user] (new)

It wasn't descriptive (thank Heavens) but Eden has a hard time because she knows what is going on down there and hears screams. :(

I never got around to reading the rest of that series, even though I really liked the first book. I should get back to them eventually...

message 2295: by Emma (new)

Emma (emnor) TECHNICALLY, I'm not 'currently reading' this, but I got it yesterday and finished it this morning, so it's the closest thing I have....

Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu

It's good :D

Did you like Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta ? I think once you remember the characters, you'll really be into it. I really liked it.

I just started The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa and hope I like it more than Wicked Lovely. For some reason, I didn't like that one.

OMG! OMG! I LOVED The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta ! Is my love coming through here? I am not sure all my exclamation points and capitalization's are showing it correctly.

Seriously. I loved it will my heart! Tom is so wonderfully flawed. I listened to the audiobook and still have a crush on the narrator. *sigh*

I skipped the Iron King so let me know about it Shannen. I am listening to The Off Season (Dairy Queen, #2) by Catherine Gilbert Murdock . I sneaked a peak at our March book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and BOY can I tell you that was a bad idea. I devoured 150 pages in one sitting. I was going to try to pace it out for a few weeks reading a few pages here and there but what can I say? I am in love. And yes, for those who already read it, I am prepared for the pain (I think).
