What are you currently reading?

My mom went beserk. "What?!"
The girl looks at her "You didn't know?!"
My mom: "NOOOOOO!"
The girl: "Oh"..... "sorry"
It was hillarious to watch, but my mother was devastated.

And Chachic: I really disliked Holly Black's faerie books as well! Bad characters and writing and everything... but so far White Cat seems to be much better. There's not a lot of action so far (I'm on page 110 or so) but somehow or another it's still very appealing to me and I'm very interested in reading more of it.

Brigid, how was Inside Out compared to the Study series?"
Well, I haven't read the entirety of the Study series––only Poison Study. I think I liked Inside Out slightly more than Poison Study, though.

I … uh … have not read all the HP books, either, for the record. I tried when I was, like, 10 and gave up after two and a half books. O_o For some reason they just didn't appeal to me. People keep telling me to give them another shot, but at this point I've been forced to watch all the movies (which I didn't like, either) and a lot has already been spoiled for me just by hearing people constantly talk about it. Plus, the hype just annoys me. Maybe when it's died down a little … or a lot …

I wouldn't recommend it, but a well placed knock on your head could likely erase your memory, but you'd have to learn how to read again too. Don't know if it's worth it... :P
Too many spoilers! Must stop the spoilers! p.s. Brigid the hype is very much worth it for HP IMHO :)

Hahaha! How's it going with the HP read, Peep?
Brigid, I'd have to agree with Heidi that HP is worth all the hype. My favorite is book three.
Heidi wrote: "Now the hype for Twilight is another matter! Again, IMHO."
Stop that! :P
HP got my oldest son to read and discover that he enjoys reading. Twilight got my youngest son to actually read a book for pleasure.

LOL! You know I love all the Twilight hype. Bring it on!

HAHA no thank you; I'm envious but certainly not to that extreme -__-

Peep, how is Infinity so far? I'm thinking of buying it maybe!

Other than that, I really like the story and I'm really interested in seeing where it goes.
I won my copy from the publisher. Was supposed to get it before it came out but they're shipping was atrocious so I didn't get in until a few days ago (and it was beat up to boot!). Ha!
HP and Twilight have nothing in common except that they both made gazillions of dollars and are both in the YA genre. People compare the two only because of those reasons. I love reading peoples comments on sites like EW.com when either series is brought up, because there is always a lot of banter back and forth about which series is better. I never engage, but I sit back and laugh. There really is no comparison in my eyes because of the two, HP is just so much more well written.

And they both made readers out of people who didn't like to read. Other than that, I agree with Heidi that there is no comparison.

I think we should charter our own debate. Wonder what two books we could compare?

Oh Shannen I think it also got the younger kids into reading longer books. :)
I love them both in very different ways. They are totally different so really no way to compare them, except how passionate their readers are. Obviously I'm passionate about both and Rob Pattinson was involved in both series. :)

Pishaw! The only thing about him as Edward Cullen that I don't like is he wears pasty make up. I tried watching him in Little Ashes where he plays Salvador Dali but I just forwarded to the scene that showed him passionately kissing another guy and one where he was almost naked. Hehe!

Shannen you are scandalous! p.s. I HATE that makeup. It is too distracting to me. I actually thought it was worse in New Moon. It brings you out of the movie when you can see the actors makeup like that (totally not Rob's fault by the way).

Little Ashes is a movie where he plays the artist Salvador Dali and he is totally gay in the movie. It was supposed to be pretty bad, so I skipped it.

I know. I mean, at first (in Twilight) you could just speculate that they're all pale and just might be vamps. But in Eclipse you just know that they're vamps or dead.
It was a bad movie and the make out scene wasn't even hot.
LOL! My co-worker is my enabler. She rented the movie and then let me borrow it.

To stay on topic I am now reading Rules of Attraction.
My co-worker told me there was a make out scene and an almost completely nude scene. I brought the movie home, put it in my laptop and watched about 2 minutes of it before I decided to just fast forward to the good stuff. My hubby's eyes almost rolled out of his head.
You liked Land of the Lost? I thought it was supposed to be bad? Alice is supposed to be good though, and I plan to see it. p.s. I am actually old enough to remember watching the original Land of the Lost and now I have that stupid theme song in my head. Between that song and that damn Chicago song my day is ruined!

Ha! I just totally got a flash of Christmas Story, "You'll shoot your eye out".
