It's good ... very intense. It's a bit confusing because there are so many characters, and the translation is pretty horrible in parts––but English and Japanese are very different languages, so I give the author the benefit of the doubt and assume the Japanese version is better. But, over all it's very exciting and captivating so far. :)

The Knife of Never Letting Go! Yes, wonderful male POV. :)
Other good male POV books:
The Lightning Thief
The Catcher in the Rye
The Outsiders
Going Bovine
Candy
Life of Pi
Full Tilt
Will Grayson, Will Grayson
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
Hope that helps, Teresa!

That's pretty much the only good reason to read that one. x_x That book infuriated me to no end...

Thanks for the list

p.s. I totally agree with Brigid about Will Grayson.

Exactly, she is way too dependent on him––which is so ironic, considering she's a freaking angel! She's sent to earth to "battle the dark forces" or whatever, and all she does is sit around on her butt for a while, then get a boyfriend. And once she has a boyfriend, she keeps needing him to save her. And I'm like, "ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU'RE AN ANGEL. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE HELPING PEOPLE, DANG IT." Arrrrgh. Not to mention she's the biggest Mary Sue on the planet. Just thinking about it gives me a headache.

Oh goodness, the sexism. Don't even get me started. All of Bethany's "friends" in that book were so disgustingly shallow, I wanted to puke on myself. You'd think Alexandra Adornetto wouldn't create such stereotypical female characters, considering she's a female herself ... But noooo. All the girls in that book do nothing but talk about boys and clothes, and start freaking out about prom months in advance ... because that's totally what all girls do in high school. Or they were all expressing their jealousy of Bethany because she's so naturally thin and has magical soft angel skin!
Owww my brain hurts just remembering. O_O

lol! That reminds me of the infamous fanfic My Immortal and the drinking game that goes along with it ... It sounds dangerous. XD
Yes yes, read Harry Potter and cleanse your brain.

I have been in a reading slump. I have been trying to read One for the Money for a month now and just don't care about it. Don't really think it's the book, just me. The last few books I have read have seemed like chores and not enjoyable. I need to break into a really good book to get me back into the swing of things so I'm reading...

Yay for Finnikin! I have been a slump for about 1-2 months too Shannen. I was only reading 10-20 pages per day for awhile, which is way less than normal. Now that is it cooler out I have been reading a little more.

I'm excited for Finnikin. I've tried to get into a few books over the last 2-3 months and the only one I completed was
and I had a really hard time getting into it even though I was really looking forward to it. One of my friends is a really huge Stephanie Plum fan but I just couldn't get into One for the Money. And she was such a good sport about reading the Fever series when she was really unsure about it (of course, she ended up loving it).

I listened to all the Stephanie Plum series books on audio. In fact, I don't think out of the 17 books I ever actually read one of them. The narrator(s) for that series rock.
I'm about a third of the way through Finnikin and loving it! This was the perfect book to jumpstart my reading again.

That was a good one. Depressing though."
yeah just finished it, it was pretty good.

just watched the movie for I am number four and I am very glad I read the book frist

Yay! Melina is my idol. I am sure you will get irritated by me saying this, but after the whole fascination with your favorite author S Meyer (and her copy cats) I was pleased to have my faith in good writing renewed by Melina. She raises the bar each time IMO. Can't wait for my copy of Froi to arrive.

Oh, Heidi! Stephenie Meyer has never been my favorite author. :P My love of Twilight mostly centers around Rob Pattinson as Edward Cullen. *sigh* Before I found Goodreads, my favorite author was probably Judy Blume.
I agree about Melina. Her books are like an emotional roller coaster ride and I get so attached to the characters. After finishing Finnikin, I feel depressed that I'm not going to get to read about him every day. I *heart* Finnikin.

I always give you cred for that! I even did it while you were MIA for awhile :)

I just started

As for slumps I totally get it, I had a few not so good books but lately I have read some great books,

Heidi - Since you haven't liked several of the books that I like, I just had to make sure you remembered Jericho Barrons. ;)
Bluemoon - OK, that cover is obviously not YA but it is HOT!
Bridget - Unwind is an excellent book. Loved it! Haven't read the others you mentioned so will have to take a look at them.

Hey. I normally like the same books as you unless they are paranormal YA books. I normally hate all of those in general though (except Hex Hall).

Heidi you are not alone, I didn't like it either. I can't really remember exactly what about it that bothered me so much but I remember being annoyed that I had actually bought it - def going to be a library donation.
