Yeah I read both of those a long time ago and they were both good but not AMAZING haha so I'll let you know how this measures up for sure

SHANEACE - too funny, great minds think alike :)

Caylie (Team Jacob) | 21 comments I'm reading The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Haruhi Suzumiya, #1) by Nagaru Tanigawa (谷川流) . It's really fast.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Finished Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #1) by Louise Rennison on audio a few days ago on my road trip to Florida. What a character Georgia is! It was a pretty entertaining read/listen.

Started Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong last night and though it took me about 30 pages to get into it, I am flying through it now.

message 1607: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 123 comments Well I finished Spell Bound (Women of the Otherworld, #12) by Kelley Armstrong and couldn't stop myself from buying and starting Withering Tights (Misadventures of Tallulah Casey, #1) by Louise Rennison , which is making me giggle constantly.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Holy cow book 12! I didn't realize there were so many Women of the Otherworld books!

message 1609: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 123 comments Ha! We are on the same authors - love them both. Women of the Otherworld are pretty good. She changes POV from book to book. There are very few books in order that are from the POV, Elena has one or two in a row - she is my fave. And Georgie is too wonderful and funny for words. I need the box set of her books so I can go back and laught all over again.

message 1610: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Haha that is funny! Hmmm other POV..I just don't know how I feel about that. I really like Elena too!

Jaimie (jaimier) | 123 comments Heidi, I just looked at my ebook to see if it was loanable since you have an ereader that you never read books on but sad to say that it is not available for loaning. :(

Thanks for checking for me Jaimie! I ordered a copy from the library so I should get it within a week or so. Super excited. I miss Georgie so it will be nice to have a fill in.

Um...it is not really my typical read I admit. I told some fellow group members I would give it a try so true to my word I have. I only have about 30 minutes left of the audiobook and all I can think is that I would NEVER give a copy of this book to my 15 year neice. It is more for college kids I think.

message 1620: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Ahh. Yes I tried to watch one of the PLL episodes on TV and I just couldn't get into it AT ALL. Not my thing. So I decided I probably wouldn't like the books either.

I'm liking it so far... and maybe i'll be on the love side for this book =) but who knows? i'm not done yet...
You'll really be picky when you constantly read amazing books cause you tend to compare. (that's what I think)

message 1624: by Julie (new)

Julie S. Meagan wrote: "^ I don't blame them. A lot of my Muslim, Mormon and Presbyterian friends strongly disliked the books. The only two (maybe three) people I know who loved the books were pagan."

Religions are not always portrayed positively in these books, especially in the situations with her stepfather. However, in the later books, the teens team up with some Catholic nuns.

I'm not too big a fan of this series either. They're 2-3 stars from me.

I think it is the same one Thalia. I "liked" it, but I "loved" book two.

message 1644: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) I'll still read the second one, no matter what I think about the first one. Hope it's better than what I think of the first book now.

I know this will make Heidi happy ... I finished Jellicoe Road late last night. ^_^

And now I'm reading Dark Whispers, the third Unicorn Chronicles book. And I'm only reading it because the first two books were my favorite when I was 9 years old, and the author took ten years to write the third. And he left the end of the second one on a cliffhanger. So, I grew up waiting and waiting for this book. And I'm finally reading it. O_o
