Rolenda (len12) | 89 comments i'm done with Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis 3stars will do. Brigid, I understand those "ugh" moments you're talking about, and the "toward the end" thing. I liked the concept and the new planet idea, especially the freezing stuffs, (I think I wanna try it.. haha) All in all, It's nice its just that maybe, I expected too much.

Now I don't know what to read next... hoping to find a new one before I log out.

The audiobook narrator made it better for me. I think I said in my review I would have given the book 3 stars, but I loved the narrator so much I had it 4 stars.

Heh, I totally agree. Cool concept, but there were a lot of eye-rolling moments.

Aww, that's a sad book. I liked the newish movie ... the 80's movie version is terrible though.

What in the? I didn't even know there was an older one! x)AnnaSophia Robb was just the perfect Leslie. And I just sob and sob and sob the whole dang time.

I rewatched the movie, and I was just bawling my eyes out by the end, and I was watching the credits and...MILEY CYRYUS COMES ON. In the credits. And I can't stand her or her voice or anything and it just...totally ruined the moment for me.

Yeah, don't watch the older one. The acting is the worst thing ever. I thought Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb were really great in the newer one. :)

I just finished

Streams of Babel by Carol Plum-Ucci

It was .... eh. I got bored and mostly skimmed it. It's not a very eventful kind of book. And it has six different perspectives (I think) and none of them were really distinctive. Too bad. I really liked her other book What Happened to Lani Garver.

Now I'm going to read

The Throne of Fire (Kane Chronicles Series #2) by Rick Riordan

Yaaaaay! :D

message 1574: by Deni (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) cindy and heidi - I am really liking it so far! I'm only to the point where her mom visits her on visiting day, but I can't wait to keep reading! It reminds me of the hunger games but in a good way not in a copy sort of way, i can't wait to finish it!

Kristina I think Peep and I are the only ones who didn't love it like everyone else so far. Oh well! That is the great thing about books.

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Meagan I LOVED Forest of Hands and Teeth! I know it gets a bad rap on this site but I thoroughly enjoyed it, I don't like the idea of zombies so it actually scared me at certain parts haha

I want to read that one, too. I don't think zombies ever really bothered me until I saw some of "I am Legend." That lonely world filled with zombies gave me the creeps. XD

message 1585: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Totally Charmaine! It didn't bother me until Dawn of the Dead and I was like HOLY CRAP! haha!

I am getting ready to start City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare , anxious to see if it lives up to the hype!

message 1586: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) Kristina: It will live up to ALL THE HYPE.
I adore the books like no other. Definitely my favorite.

message 1587: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Thalia - Good! One of my best friends read it and didn't really love it but said it was okay, but she seems to definitely be in the minority so I think I'll like it!

That one was not for me. Another book where people love love love it or hate it. I am yet to be on the love side for any of those types of books. I think the older I get and the more I read the pickier I get.

I KNOW. All the talk of the moaning and the ones that are super fast, I definitely wouldn't survive in an environment like that. SO crazy. The second one is good, and I have the third in hardback but haven't read it yet.

I'm going to start Don't Breathe a Word by Jennifer McMahon today, sounds intriguing and creepy!
