LOL! Well it would be a third dystopian novel after divergent and wither. I am a sucker for Dystopian novels but I don't know if thats what I want to read. But I do want to read them... Hahaha, understand my dilemma?

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments YAY FOR KNIFEEEE!

Knife is a great book. The whole series is one of my favorites. It's really heavy though so be prepared.

Melina (PrettyNiftyReader) | 14 comments Yes quite happy with my decisions myself!

message 1412: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 37 comments Keep up with "The HELP". It is brilliant, really. I lived in Memphis as a teenager and my husbands family grew up there. It is true to life in the south during that time period and much of it still remains the same. Crazy

message 1413: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 37 comments I have been so shocked to see junior high kids reading the Marked Series. Especially when the first book has explicit sex in it. I can't believe a mother and daughter team wrote it. It is actually in jr. high book fairs. This is not for such young kids.

message 1414: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 37 comments I'm currently reading Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie to help me write better and a really funny book Millie's Fling by Jill Mansell
I like them all so far. What do you think?

message 1415: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 37 comments Okay, so Story Engineering by Larry Brooks should have popped up for the book to help me write better and about Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie -I like it, but it is slow moving. It almost seems like a bunch of backstory for the real story....I'm also reading The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1) by Rick Riordan

Both mother and daughter are adults. I don't know if that makes it any less strange? But yeah, I agree that it would be an awkward book series to write with one's mom.

I also found Matched annoying ... partly because I read it right after Delirium and it was pretty much the same plot but with much blander characters. :/

I am skipping both Matched and Delirium. I have not heard enough good things about either to make me want to read them.

Brigid ✩ | 2471 comments Mod
Delirium was really good! I didn't want to read it at first, either. But I was surprised. I thought it was really well-written.

Matched, on the other hand, was pretty much what I expected it to be ... not that good.

Brigid did you read Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver ? It left me with more questions than answers so I was afraid Delirium would be the same. Not sure if I am correct or not??

message 1422: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 2471 comments Mod
Nope, haven't read it.

And Delirium is part of a trilogy so it's hard to say. But I thought things were explained well in it. The plot isn't all that complicated to begin with.

I know that you pretty much discount everything I say, but I really, really enjoyed Delirium. Even though the ending was a cliffhanger, it wasn't terrible because there's going to be three books. I also think it was much better than the Hunger Games, which you loved. (I loved it too D: It depresses me that I say that I hate it now, but i just do :()

I don't discount everything you say Seth! I am quite a bit older than you so it is normal that we would not like the same things. We will always have Chaos Walking!

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments I didn't mean that you discount everything I say in a bad way. Just that our opinions differ so often that it must be difficult to trust me because of that ;D Rereading the comment, it sounds like I was being mean :P Sorry about that!

message 1431: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) CoFA wasn't as good as its predecessors, as least in my opinion. The tragedy aspect being gone and all, I wasn't as sold as before on TMI.

I'm reading Plague (Gone, #4) by Michael Grant right now. And then Among the Barons (Shadow Children, #4) by Margaret Peterson Haddix .

Kristina (kristinalawhead) can't decide between re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7) by J.K. Rowling or Sisterhood Everlasting (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, #5) by Ann Brashares

I concur. Reading the fourth one I just didn't care as much because I was like, "Well, it already kind of ended, so like ... she can't just kill everyone off. ... Right?" It was still very good, I just didn't feel as emotionally invested in it. Also Jace and Clary became so dang annoying. x_x

message 1435: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) Yes, I agree. I loved TMI because of the really unique plot twists, however strange it is. But now that that's over, you can't really top it; now it just feels like every other teen fantasy book.

(I wanted to smack Jace and Clary. I adore them. I really do. They're like, my OTP of all books, but urggg.)

I know, right? It's unfair that we had to wait so long for them to get together, and then the end of the third book was so cute ... and then it's like, "HAHA. We're going to be annoying as hell again." And I'm just like ... *headbook*

message 1437: by Picture (last edited Jul 02, 2011 07:00PM) (new)

Picture Perfect (picturesperfect) I am currently reading The Battle of the Labyrinth. I've been waiting for it for a long time, but when I read the first three pages. I was like, "Deja Vu." Did I read this before? I hate when that happens with a book. It used to a lot before goodreads came a long in my life. Erghh, I hope I just happened to read the first chapter of the fourth book because they gave some sort of excerpt in the third book. It's going to drive me nuts to remember though. I don't think I did. Or did I? Oh wait, now I remember where I read the first chapter one. So...this whole paragraph was kind of a waste.

message 1438: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) Brigid: I KNOW. They were so incredibly perfect and sweet and like they were precious enough to be above such stupidity. And then...no.

Picture: Hahaha; I love moments like that. Both book deja vu, and writing paragraphs and then realizing that I actually didn't need to write it. (:

message 1446: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I am going to start Entwined by Heather Dixon

message 1447: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Long I might suggest a quick read for teens and adults. It's a modern-day fairytale about a young girl trying to find a new way to fit in. It's geeks versus the populars. Available both in paperback as well as a very reasonable $.99 in ebook. Cinderella Geek Hope you enjoy!

Anyway.
