message 1201: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (lgcoleman) Currently reading What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen . Sarah Dessen hasn't disappointed me yet!

message 1202: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments I love Sarah Dessen! Though I couldn't stand Dreamland.

message 1203: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (lgcoleman) Dreamland was the first book of hers that I read. I enjoyed it. It does seem a bit depressing compared to most of her other books though.

message 1204: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments I only read, like, half of it.

I also love Sarah Dessen, although I agree with Seth ... Dreamland was my least favorite of hers. And I haven't read her new book yet.

message 1209: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 2471 comments Mod
Um, I couldn't find it. I gave it to my mom and she doesn't know where she put it. :P Also, Demonglass is due at the library first. So ...

Just finished The Goose Girl (The Books of Bayern, #1) by Shannon Hale . Now listening to Summer and the City (The Carrie Diaries #2) by Candace Bushnell and 13 Little Blue Envelopes (Little Blue Envelope, #1) by Maureen Johnson both on audio.

message 1213: by Picture (new)

Picture Perfect (picturesperfect) 13 Little Blue Envelopes is such a cute story no matter how unrealistic it may be. In reality, there's something called kidnapping. Ha. Anyway, that reminds me that I must read the sequel. Eeeh! Eeeh! I'm a bat.

message 1214: by Amkra (new)

Amkra | 10 comments I'm probably way too slow on this, but I just bought the Hunger Games (only the first one so far)

That is a cute book. And I have the sequel, although I seem to have lost it ... *searches house frantically*

message 1217: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments Amkra- It's too late. And not worth it. Because eventually you'll have to read the third one. -cries hysterically-

I have stuck it out and have a little bit left and it has finally picked up I was losing hope in it but the plot is finally moving somewhere. I think Tamani is deffiently the most interesting of all the characters :)

Oh that is dissapointing I thought the second one would deffienlty be more exciting. I was thinking maybe the first one was just slowly building up to a big climax.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Amkra - I agree with Heidi that it is worth a try. There are people out there who really liked Mockingjay. Though I didn't like some things about it, I am glad I read it.

message 1224: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Just finished Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs and started In the Hand of the Goddess by Tamora Pierce .

Kara (greathera77) | 30 comments I just started Beauty Queens, I have not read anything else by Bray, But so far I am enjoying it. Its pretty funny in a snarky kinda way.

message 1226: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments Yeah, Amkra, don't listen to me. but don't listen to Heidi either! (Her name is Heidi [don't listen to me]).

Beauty Queens is hilarious!
You should read her other books, too––although they're all quite different. Going Bovine is somewhat similar to Beauty Queens––in that it's also a comedy ... sort of. It's a bit more ... abstract.
I still love her Gemma Doyle trilogy the best, and those are really different from Going Bovine and Beauty Queens. A lot darker. But soooo good. <3

I just finished reading

The Last Little Blue Envelope (Little Blue Envelope, #2) by Maureen Johnson

It was cute. I enjoyed it. :)

Now back to reading these two...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6) by J.K. Rowling Everfound (Skinjacker, #3) by Neal Shusterman

message 1231: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I'm reading Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare and listening to The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl by Barry Lyga (and no I still don't like audiobooks).

message 1232: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments BRIGID READ EVERFOUND FIRST. OR I'LL HATE YOU FOREVER.

Not really.

But I will, a little.

I love audiobooks, Brandi!

message 1233: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) AHH I can't decide what to read!! I am way too overwhelmed with books, help!

message 1234: by Emily (new)

Emily (librarylil) I want to read Beauty Queens, though I never did finish Going Bovine. I tried, I really did. Picked it up several times after giving up on it. I feel really guilty, especially because I was at Bray's acceptance speech for the Printz Award for it.

I'm currently reading the last Ruby Oliver book by E. Lockhart.

message 1235: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Finished In the Hand of the Goddess by Tamora Pierce last night and I really liked it! Going to start The Woman Who Rides Like a Man by Tamora Pierce today. I really like this series so far!

I love the Gemma Doyle trilogy. They were the kind of books I just wanted to curl up in the covers and read.

message 1237: by Sarah (last edited Jun 16, 2011 06:50AM) (new)

Sarah (sbwalker07) | 8 comments I am currently reading Looking for Alaska by John Green. I like it. I am not head over heels for it, but I do like the way the author captured the voice of a gawky, teenage boy.

message 1238: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (lesmisarahbles) | 12 comments I just finished A Wizard of Mars (Young Wizards, #9) by Diane Duane . Diane Duane is amazing. <3

I'm starting What I Saw And How I Lied by Judy Blundell because the cover is so pretty. :) It'll probably be the last book I check out of the library though, because I've pretty much lost my card and the new policy states you can't check out books without it now! -grumbles-

message 1239: by Emily (new)

Emily (librarylil) Sarah, most libraries will let you get a replacement card for a pretty low fee. Ours is $2. It's a pain, I know, but it is still cheaper than buying all your books!

Too late ... but I just finished the 6th Harry Potter book.
So NOW I'm going to read Everfound! <3

message 1241: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I just can't enjoy audiobooks Seth. It annoys me that I could read so much faster on my own and I have a hard time doing ANYTHING else while listening because I'm so easily distracted.

Sarah I loved What I Saw and How I Lied. I hope you enjoy it!

message 1242: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments BRIGID YOU ARE A FREAKEN BOOK MONSTER THIS WEEK! NO JOKE! YOU'VE READ LIKE, THREE, BOOKS. I'VE BEEN READING GOING BOVINE FOREVER.

Yes, but, sometimes, books are just audiobooks to me. Idk why. Like, I don't ever want to read an Ender's Game book. I'd rather listen to them.

message 1243: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Same here Seth. I will only listen to Bloody Jack on audio. The narrator is just so stinkin good it would be silly NOT to let her read to me.
