I am really enjoying it. I've even bought the next two books because I know I'll keep reading them.

I just started this as well! I'm not that far (page 10 or so, had to start cooking dinner) but it's not bad.

message 1007: by Rolenda (new)

Rolenda (len12) | 89 comments I'm currently reading Plague (Gone, #4) by Michael Grant It gets exciting! water supply problem's getting worse, Drake's on the loose, and the flu is spreading... I'm on the part where Hunter died with these parasites coming off of him... gruesome! haha

Arphaxad | 19 comments ♥ Brigid ♥ wrote: "Oh yeah, I read the first Mediator book and never got around to reading the others ... but it was good. What are the Missing series? Is that the 1-800-Where-R-U ones? Because I read a couple of those, also."

Yep, I think that's what they're called in the US. They're on my list of go-to books when I need something lighthearted/requiring zero brain activity. Suze and Jess always make me chuckle :)

message 1009: by Cain (new)

Cain Carungay | 1 comments I'm reading The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer

message 1010: by Nicholas (new)

Nicholas Hello everyone,

New to the group. Right now I'm reading House by Frank E. Peretti

But as an author exchange, once I'm done with House, I'm going to begin Wayward The Witch Wars Saga (Volume 1) by Ashley Girardi Book One The Growing Dim Project by Nicholas A. McGirr

message 1011: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Okay I finally finished Everfound (Skinjacker, #3) by Neal Shusterman . It seemed to drag on and on and on....and on. While it was was good enough, it wasn't great for me.

On a more positive note! I started Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta and I am flying right through it! It is really good so far!!! Melina Marchetta never fails to impress me.

message 1012: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (bexlibris) I don't think I have ever read a book by Melina Marchetta so Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta would be my first. Do any of you have any recommendations (from her books)?

My two favs are Finnikin of the Rock and Jellicoe Road. Jellicoe takes almost 200 pages to understand what the heck is going on so I would not read that one first. To be honest I love them all!

message 1015: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) going to start My Little Phony (The Clique, #13) by Lisi Harrison I stopped reading these for years and now I'm sad that I'm almost done with the series!

message 1016: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta !!!!! Yes it is confusing at first, but oh so worth it. LOVED it. And Finnikin was really good too.

Yeah! Darn you, Seth! Now I want to read it but I don't want to pay $10 for the Kindle version.

I'm almost done with The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer . Shed a few tears reading it today. Very nervous about how it's going to end!

Have no fear, Shannen; as far as I recall, the ending was really nicely done (to my own relief at the time)! Hope you enjoy the rest :)

Yay for North of Beautiful!

message 1029: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I don't normally like to read more than one book at a time BUT North of Beautiful is my appropriate book for in public reading. LoL! I didn't feel like being harrassed at work today for reading Night Pleasures.

message 1030: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished The Host last night. Oh, I was so happy DH was working graveyard because I was sobbing at the end.

I splurged and bought Leaving Paradise (Leaving Paradise, #1) by Simone Elkeles for my Kindle (under $8 = yay!)because I really needed a Simone Elkeles fix. I love her books!

message 1031: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I need to try Simone Elkeles! I always put it on my immediate TBR list and it keeps getting bumped by other books.

I am still in the minority about Rules of Attraction (worst piece of stereotyping ever), but I did enjoy Leaving Paradise.

message 1033: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha! Yes, definitely stereotyping but I love me some romance cheese!

message 1035: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments Sorry Bluemoon, Shannen, and Kourtni! But, just let me tell you, it's VERY worth it. Ummm. I know this is kinda cheating, but if you didn't want to buy it, I have the PDF/EPUB file if you would like me to send it to you so you don't have to spend money.

Rolenda, it's very worth it! Such a great read!

And Amkra, it is a series book. The end is craziness, and I'm excited for the second one!

message 1036: by Christina (new)

Christina Garner | 8 comments Reading Mockingjay (book 3 of Hunger Games) So far, the first one is def the best... Planning to pick up some older LJ Smith soon. (Nightworld stuff cos they're quick reads)

message 1037: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) | 240 comments It IS a very keepable book! I'm actually thinking I might buy a copy for myself!

Christina . . . I hate MockingJay. So passionately.

message 1038: by Christina (new)

Christina Garner | 8 comments Really, Seth? Did you like the other 2? Book 1 was great IMO, book 2 good... no idea where Book 3 is going and I'm starting not to care...

message 1039: by Shaneace (new)

Shaneace (wonderlandofbooks) Right Now I'm reading Perfect

message 1040: by Seth (new)

Shaneace, I love that book!

message 1041: by Tom (new)

Tom Wang I just finished Crank. Great poetic yet depressingly realist stuff, can't wait for Glass.

Mockingjay is totally different than the first two books and very depressing, but I ended up appreciating it after some reflection (it took me at least a week). I mean if you think about the horrible world they all live in I think it would be a cop out of Breaking Dawn proportions to end it with a happily ever after type ending.

message 1046: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh Seth! I would love a copy of the PDF/EPUB file! Please! :D

message 1047: by Kourtni (last edited May 25, 2011 10:12AM) (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Thanks so much for the offer Seth! So nice of you. But I think I am going to buy this one. :)

message 1048: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I didn't like Mockingjay as well as the first two books either. It was far too depressing for me. Through the first two books there was always a small shred of hope that something(not everything) was going to work out for the best. I get that it is a crappy horrible disgusting world they lived in and it wouldn't do to have a happily ever after, but come on, give us something!

That's not to say I didn't fly through it and eat up every word, because I did! I just don't like closing a book feeling like I need an anti-depressant.
