The ending is very dramatic in my mind. I remembered a little about her sister but not about Raffe. :(

I used to love MHC too, but then I read one of her newer ones and it felt like a completely different author. I'm not sure if she slaps her name on her newer books these days but has someone else write them? Either that or my tastes have changed.

Oh, Heidi! Did you see this Life and Death Twilight Reimagined by Stephenie Meyer ?! LOL! You must click on it to read the "reviews" and see all the gifs!

Raffe's part is the one that kinda creeps me out. Gives me shivers.

wahahahaha...omg I have no clue what Stephanie Meyer is thinking about O_O

message 9207: by [deleted user] (new)

Aren't those gifs the best? Stephenie Meyer must be full of herself. Then again, I have to admit to being curious about it. But only if it was $1.99 or less. ;)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 440 comments That new Twilight sounds utterly ridiculous to me personally, but, hey, I guess if you got a cash cow might as well milk that sucker dry, huh?

message 9209: by [deleted user] (new)

I think even TwiFans see the ridiculousness of this book.

hahahaha...maybe if we can all find it in our library we can have a go at it next years group read.

I'm tearing up with laughter just thinking about it.

I'm a sucker for this crap so I know I'll read it at some point.

I think I'd rather read more of those reviews than the actual book!

Please promise me whoever decides to read that book that they will NOT buy it and instead it it from the library! She doesn't need to earn anymore money from that series!

You are cracking me up, Heidi! At $13, there is no way I'm buying it. I gave my husband the stink eye last night when I had to one-click a $13 Star Wars book for him. Then I remembered that he never buys books. But $13? Really?

$13! For that rubbish! I am surprised they didn't encase it in some special glitter or something so they could charge $25 for it. Also, I am very sad you even know the price! It means you must have checked on it. So so sad :(

message 9223: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL! I almost spit my yogurt out! Of course I checked on it. If it was under $5, I would have bought the rubbish!

Just finished:

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Really liked it!

And I'm still working on Lair of Dreams, but I had to put it on hold for a couple days while I read some library books. :P

I'm currently reading...
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1) by Ransom Riggs
I didn't really like the first books, but I heard that the second book is better. So I might as well give it a try.

I loved Miss Peregrine, and I did think Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #2) by Ransom Riggs was even better. Can't wait to get and read Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #3) by Ransom Riggs

It was good! And yes, it takes place during WWII and it's very sad. It kind of reminded me of The Book Thief and I didn't love it as much as that book, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I didn't finish the first book. I'm not sure if I wasn't in the mood at the time or it was the book itself.

It could have been the wrong book at the wrong time Shannen. It was one of our monthly reads so you can look at the thread for it here and see what others thought of it.

I've only read a couple of chapters...actually just four, but I feel that Hollow City is flowing a lot better than the first book. One of my concerns on the fist one was that the pictures seems forced in the first book. This doesn't seem like an issue with this one.

I honestly feel this series puts the other popular turned-into-movie dystopians to shame. And that's said with zero disrespect to any of those stories, most of which I love. Chaos Walking just stands alone.

100% agree. This is why I get so passionate about lesser known books I love. Sorry to all the Divergent fans but Chaos kicks butt! Also (IMO) Patrick put together three solid books in the series and from what I have heard from fans that did not happen with the Divergent series (I only read book one). It is a difficult feat to have a series get better with each book but he does it.
