What are you currently reading?
HEIDI: I've been seeing the book around lately. It's actually not as great as people said it was. The book is just a bunch of short stories written by some popular authors, some of the stories are good and some are mediocre.
TOMMY: I'm glad that you like the Rot and Ruin series!

I actually enjoyed "warrior smart" haha. I think it's because of my days playing and still watching basketball and knowing how strong little rallying words/phrases can be.

I got used to it but I know it drove David and some others crazy!

Awesome. Her books are really good on audio too by the way. I really like her Agatha Raisin series. It seems like people either like the Hamish series or the Agatha series but not both for some reason. Probably because they have really different personalities. Agatha is quite prickly.

I might have to read a Sarah Maas book with all the talk about them on here.

I'll let you know what I think of this one when I am done Shannen :)

Sounds good! Have you read any of her other books?
SHANNEN: I've read Throne of Glass. It's good, but I just couldn't stand the protagonist, but the story itself is pretty good. I think Graceling fans will like it. I'm not saying its the same, but there are aspects that are similar.
ooo..forgot to say...
I finished reading...
The graphic novel is growing on me. It's pretty good so far. I'm just a bit apprehensive because the books are not all out yet and I don't know how long this series will be.

Up next,

It's something where, while I can't agree, I can totally get. It got a bit crazy, objectively haha.

I thought Name of the Wind was ok but it was too long IMO. I would have liked it a lot more had it been scaled down.

With all of my romance reading (the only thing I've read the last few years), I have grown to dislike series that go on forever and ever. I can handle a trilogy but find that the same story over and over gets old real quick. I never did finish the Rot and Ruin series. :( After I finish the Angelfall books, I will probably read standalones for a while.

I had the same issue with Throne of Glass––really hated the protagonist. So many people have told me the second book is much better though, so I might try it eventually.
Also I've heard the Saga series is good! I've been meaning to read those, and more graphic novels in general. :)

I normally prefer stand alone books too. I also only like books with 2-3 in the series (unless it is my cozy books because they go on forever). On a side note - I love romances by Kristan Higgins and Sarah Addison Allen :)

Heidi - Those aren't the kinds of romances I read. ;) More along the lines of Kristen Proby and Sawyer Bennett. Kind of like BDB but without the vampires. Haha!

Yeah I was assuming you liked the other kind of romances! hahaha I am too prudish for those (how I ever read BDB is beyond me!)

You didn't just read them, you LIKED them! At least that's what I remember.

I resemble that remark! hahaha I finished with the series awhile back though so it is like when you quit smoking and your lungs regenerate but instead this time my brain regenerates??

LOL! I didn't even finish the series. I liked the Midnight Breed series better than BDB. I couldn't stand O or whatever the name of the villain was. I would skim those chapters quickly. Lame.
BRIGID: If you're going to take a crack on graphic novels, try Through the Woods. Its really good and creepy!

Yup it was O. It all seemed so recycled after awhile so I quit around book 8. I will stick with Kate Daniels and one of my newer favorites The Others if I want a PN fix :)

What is The Others? I haven't read PNR in a long time.
It is a series about a blood prophet and includes vampires and werewolves - Written in Red
is the first book. There have only been 3 books so far and it is different enough to keep me interested so far.

A very good recommendation for people who aren't regular comic readers. Saga is also very, very good.
I highly recommend Y: The Last Man. It's a bit longer, also a bit graphic. But it is just stupendous writing. That comic is the last thing I read that made me cry.
Also, you should give I Kill Giants a try before it's made into a movie. Very short, very awesome read.

Thank you, Heidi. I have a feeling I would like the Agatha Raisin series. I don't mind "prickly! " :) I enjoy the humor in the Hamish series.

Jenny, I liked The Number One Ladies Detective Agency! And I loved the TV series-maybe it was PBS? Or BBC? I can't remember, but it was great!

I saved a few of the books in the series from a dumpster, so thought I'd try it! Checked out the first book from the libary! I'm defintely going to continue reading them, this one was fun! And just the right amount of sappy :)

I've always LOVED Mary Higgins Clark :) Her daughter, Carol Higgins Clark writes the Regan Reilly series. I really recommend that one, its so fun!
@Bluemoon and Tommy - Thanks for the graphic novel recs! I will look for those. :D
@David - I am about to start that one soon, too. :) I've heard really mixed things about it, but I'm still hoping I will like it!

I finished my re-read of
. The ending of this one took me by surprise since I couldn't remember it. How do I totally forget a book's ending?!
Will start
tonight.

Will start

O_o. I remember that ending. I think it's ingrained in my memory, creepiest ending by far for me. Mind you, in my memory, it seems more cinematic that it actually is. So yea...

@David, I seriously am hoping that that one shows up at my local library soon, I want to read that one!
@Shannen, that one is on my TBR pile checked out from the library, can't wait to start reading it, but there are a couple in line before it :D

Better late than never. I am reading the Sept. group read Nevermore
. I am not far into it so have no opinion yet. I wish they offered this one on audiobook because it seems like it would be a good audiobook (well that and it is long so I wouldn't have to hold up a big book to read it :)

Give it a try! I think you will like it. It is sweet and has humor mixed throughout it.
