Thanks for the input Brigid! I must have been in a mood when I tried it last time. I don't remember much and didn't even list it in my books so it could have just been I needed to return it to the library or something silly like that :)

I am reading a tween book, Swim the Fly. It's funny in a deliberately-juvenile way and I think it's going to end up being kind of sweet. Probably geared toward middle school.

Just finished and now onto the third book in the series . This series is dark/creepy but very entertaining. I also have the 4th and 5th books from the library so I'll read them next :)

I felt the same way - it was more middle grade than Heist Society but still a fun read.

Finished and I LOVED this fantasy! 4.5 stars. Really wonderful fantasy! I fell in love with Echo and all the other supporting characters, and loved the journey and action in this one from start to end! It reminded me a lot of Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

Sort of. It's creepiness is more derived from man-made monsters than real monsters, but still the same creepy effect when you're reading it. I'd say to try the sample first and if you connect with the hook of the story right away, give it a shot :)

Someone in my group recommended it ages ago and I added it to my TBR list. Then I just happened to see it at the library. I loved it so now I'm reading all of them!

Finished today. Very slow start, but also a very strong finish. It's a book I recommend everyone consider reading at least once.

Pretty similar feelings. I bumped it to 4 stars for some great moments, one of the most loveable characters I've ever witnessed, and for just standing out from other things I've read. It's my least favorite Patrick Ness book so far(4-stars as opposed to 5-stars for the other 4 books I've read) but I do think it's objectively a very worthwhile book.

Someone told me the other series by Ally Carter was more middle grade. Middle grade books tend to have bigger font, and help get me out of ruts. So I'm saving those books for when I need easy larger print stuff. :)

This was SO GOOD! A wonderful, knuckle biting, crazy thriller! LOVED it, even more than Monument 14! I def recommend it, if you like zombies/thrillers!

*side note* There aren't actual "zombies" in the story, they are all human...but they tend to start acting like zombies. I don't want to give it all away, but its FREAKY! ;)

It's a little hard to follow; it's one of those books that kinda plunges you into the fantasy world without much explanation. It's been a little slow-going for me, but it's interesting at least!

Yeah, it's tough––because I get really annoyed with info-dumping but I also don't want to be left completely in the dark. It's hard to find that balance. I think there are a lot of books that do it very well ... I think it's all about using terminology in a clear context, making good use of dialogue, etc.

Oooh! I am so glad to know about this! I LOVED the trilogy Libba Bray wrote, A Great and Terrible Beauty and the 2 after that. And they stayed with me, and people I worked with were all talking about them. Love books like that! I will definitely put this ons "Want to Read." Thanks!!!

She's an amazing writer :) I've only read The Diviners, which was SO GOOD. I highly recommend it!
