Heidi (Yup. Still here.) wrote: "I liked Anna "ok" but felt the same way. I don't know that I've ever had such strong feelings for characters while not caring all that much about the story before haha. Kind of odd really, but there it is haha.

I get what you are saying. I had no issues with the characters either and agree they were better than the story that they were unfortunately plopped into!

4 stars, great adventure!
4 stars. Typical YA contemporary romance, with the proper angst. Enjoyed it enough :)
4 stars. This series is sort of like my obsession I have with Beverly Hills, 90210 (my old one.) Addicted to the drama!
4.5 stars. Loved this as much as the first book! These books are just so original, and I loved the characters too!
5 stars, reread. Love this fantasy!
3.5 stars. I was majorly confused through much of this book. It all came together in the end with a fabulous ending. Not sure if I'll read the sequel yet.
4 stars. THAT ENDING!! HOLY CRAP!!!
4 stars. Really fun adventure for kids! I enjoyed it :)
4 stars. Really liked this one. It covered some history in India that I did not know much about. The woman in it were incredible!Right now reading:
for review. So far its okay, although I haven't been blown away. I love the author, so I'm really hoping it gets better!
I am LOVING this book! I've laughed a lot already!

The Lockwood & Co. ones are fantastic if you like mysteries, ghosts and fun banter. The STORM book is more middle school and is OK so far.

5 star read.This. Book. Is. Brilliant!
LOVED every word, every sentence, every page. The whole thing was perfect. I laughed (a lot), I cried, and I melted with happiness. It had the same flavor of "I Am The Messenger" by Marcus Zusak.
This is a must read. Seriously. This is a book for Booklovers.
"No man is an island; every book is a world."
I do not want to return this book to the library! I need to buy myself a copy, pronto!
I have heard great things about the audiobook of the Storied Life Jenny so I put a hold on it at my library :)
I also put a hold on the audiobook for Lockwood & Co Becky.

It looks like an interesting read. I like magical school/academy books."I'm pretty obsessed with the special school/academy theme myself as well. I'm roughly 100 pages into Charlie Bone and so far it's interesting but I haven't seen the academy yet.

Still reading the unbecoming of mara dyer, sorta like a rockstar, living dead in dallas, the lightening thief, and I started another book.I seem to be starting, and slowly (very slowly) working my way through but not finishing many at the moment. When I finish them it will be like 10 at once. haha.

Well, now I've read the first couple chapters and I'm not a huge fan of it so far. I think I will stick with it though, and see if it gets any better. :)

I am going to start our monthly group read tomorrow The Goose Girl
It was a kindle daily deal (The Goose Girl) not that long ago but I didn't know y'all were reading it or anything about it really so I passed on it. Wish I would have gotten it now!
Just finished Midnight for Charlie Bone I really liked it, but can't go so far as to say "loved it". I am intrigued by the rest of the series, though.Up next, some comics reading Bone, Vol. 8: Treasure Hunters while I decide what novel to read next.
Just finished
Another 5 star read that I recommend! Especially to fans of Laini Taylor, the style was similar, and this is a very unique fantasy! Loved it!!

Based on the cover I would pass right over this book without a second glance. I decided to check out the description since you fived it and, man, that sounds like it could really be something I could love.
Tommy, I think you would love this one! Very unique writing and fantasy!I've kind of been on a roll lately, too--
--and just last night I finished
and loved it! Another 5 star :)But there's been lots of 3 and 4 stars, too as of late. Not everything you read can be epic and amazing! I love it when it is, but I mainly hope to be entertained :)

[bookcover:The Storied Life of A.J. F..."I hope you're right because I'm almost certainly gonna give it a go.
And yeah, I can read 50 3-star reads in a row without being let down. My expectations are so low, I just love stories, them being great is a bonus, not a requirement haha. I did 5 star a comic last night :)
Just finished
and am mad at myself for getting to one of the greater comic series I've ever read so late in life.Up next I'll either read
(the final book in the Bone series, not counting the 2 prequels and 1 companion book(I'll be reading those as well)) or
A little more than halfway done with:
It's okay. The premise is interesting and the writing is good but it's just a bit ... dry? And something about it makes me feel kind of uncomfortable? I don't know. It's not really working for me, but I like it enough that I'll finish it.
I'm also about a third of the way through:
It's also ... not great. And I'm disappointed because I really wanted to like it. It's about a girl who finds out she's intersex and is trying to deal with all these issues of gender identity and sexuality and whatnot, which I think is an important issue! But unfortunately so far I'm finding it a bit sexist (like, all the female characters are really shallow and petty, and all the male characters are just very "bro"-y and whatnot). So it's kind of upsetting me, but I'm still hoping it somehow redeems itself.

I've heard really mixed review on Ava Lavender. I did buy it, so I guess I'll see if I ever get to it!

[bookcover:The Storied ..."Exactly, I'm the same way. I don't expect every book I pick up to be amazing literature. I just hope to be entertained! If I'm entertained, I'm happy :) And since I love so read to much, I usually am entertained!

That might've been my biggest book disappointment in the past few years at least. I've read worse, for sure, but nothing worse that I was more intrigued by. I wanted to love it so much and just couldn't finish it :/
Oh well, can't love 'em all, right?

I finished The Whispering Skull. I liked the first one better but still a good read.I'm almost done with The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. It threw me off a couple of times with how much time this book covers. An enjoyable read so far. (view spoiler)
