Next I'm reading

Lots of crow themed books lately apparently! Although I don't have a clue with The Alex Crow is about, I grabbed it because of the author!

I've been telling people they should checkout or borrow book one, and if they like it at all, they'll almost for sure enjoy the series.
It gets better and better as it goes.

I've got it bookmarked to listen to next after I finish the Finishing School books (and while I wait for the fourth one lol)
I finally finished...
I'm actually shocked that I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would.

I haven't read this one either. I started it a couple of times but put it aside. ;)

Interesting. I am yet to try it.

That book was a pretty big let-down for me. I found the main character extremely irritating and conceited. :P

Yeah, I've heard the sequels are a lot better. I might still give them a try!

I'm in the very very early pages, but so far it's interesting.
You should check out those Vengekeep Prophecies books :)

I am still reading Ice Country
and enjoying it and also listening to Does My Head Look Big In This?
simply because it narrated by one of my female crush narrators who narrated Jellicoe Road :)

Scorpio Races had to grow on me. At first I did not really buy into but then somewhere mid-way though I really started getting into it and ending up really liking it.
Well, I finally finished:
It took me pretty much the entire school year, but I did it. :P And it was good! I didn't like it quite as much as Cloud Atlas but it was still enjoyable.
I also finished:
Which was also good, although not my favorite from Neal Shusterman––but of course, I had extremely high expectations. :D
Now I'm trying to finish:
It's an ARC I got months ago that I still haven't finished. And well ... I'm not crazy about it, but I figured I may as well finish it since I'm already more than halfway through it.
I also started another ARC:
I'm not very far into it and not sure what to think yet. The premise is interesting but the writing is ehhhh. But I'll stick with it and see if it gets better!

Brigid I just started the audio of Challenger Deep and it is weird so far! I am not sure if I will stick with it because I got the audio through this new App my library is using (Acoustik) and I have to have my wifi or data turned on my phone to listen, which bites the big one IMO!

Based on the first 90 some odd pages I've read of this and her 3 Raven Cycle books I've read, I'm thinking Maggie Stiefvater's writing style just lends to a slow start. I really don't mind it, though, because that woman is like a ballet dancer with words haha. Beginning is a bit slow, but I'm not minding so far.
@Heidi - Ugh that sounds like a pain. And yeah, it is strange. More "conceptual" than his other books, I guess. I liked it in the end, but it took some getting used to.
@Tommy - I agree. Her books are typically pretty slow-paced and then speed up towards the end, but I don't tend to mind so much because––as you said––her writing style itself is always lovely. And in the case of The Raven Cycle, I love the characters so much I'm always interested in reading about them even if there's not a lot going on plot-wise. :D (Side note: I just found out the release of the last book has been postponed by like four months ... gahhh I'm really upset about that!)

BOOO!!! I need me that ending haha.

Right?! I read the first two, loved 'em. But they didn't have that same "I NEED THE NEXT ONE NOW!" effect as BL,LB haha. Dang you Stiefvater!
Jaimie wrote: "Gah! I am not currently reading anything! And what is really annoying is that I have a stack of books from the library I just haven't had time to get into and now they are all due back :("
Sorry Jaimie! Can you renew them?? I hope so. I do it all the time. I have been majorly slacking on my reading lately I am hoping to pick it up some this summer since I normally go to bed super early in the winter.

I wish but they have holds on them, well at least the ones that I want to keep. I think I will just try to re-check them out before my vacation at the end of this next month. I plan to read at least a couple books while Gramma is keeping little miss occupied.

Jenny I could not agree with you more. I hope everyone that starts Throne of Glass gives the whole series a shot. I will be rereading it before the next book comes out. Celaena may be my favorite heroine now. So much is happening in these books and so many eye popping moments....Love Throne of Glass. So far I have felt the same way about

Exactly––the first and second ones definitely left me wanting more, but the third one was especially cliffhanger-y. :P

Good to know, Darren! I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer in person a few weeks ago and she did a reading from this book! It sounded really good. My signed copy is sitting on my nightstand!! I need to read it sooner than later!! ;)

Loved the Red Rising and

It`s because it was book of the month in David`s group. Only two chapters into it, its good so far although a bit creepy.

Oh yes Oda! Forgot about that. Seems to get a lot of mixed reviews. Normally I don't like books like that...
Like what? that get mixed reviews? I kind of like mixed reviews books, I mean if a book is a book people love or hate then it makes you feel. If a book is just so-so then its done the cardinal sin, its not done its duty by making the reader feel something.

I am interested in your thoughts on this one. My library has it on audiobook so I might check it out.
