Ugh! I will seriously never understand this Mortal Instrument love. I feel all alone on my non-MI island!

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments It's just not your cup of tea Heidi! You don't seem to like any books of that genre.

Very true! That genre gives me a serious case of eyeroll overload!

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Haha! Well if it makes you feel better CoFA got quite a few eye rolls from me.

hahaha. I just got done with EO (eyeroll overload) finishing A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy #1) by Deborah Harkness this morning. I've had enough for a little while!

Anywho, I am reading Demonglass (Hex Hall, #2) by Rachel Hawkins .

message 806: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 123 comments I am not sure if I really want to read the new MI book yet. I kind of want to wait until all the next ones come out, you know like 3 years?! Ha!

I finished the third Kate Daniels book and I really should NOT buy the next one since I am kind of blowing my good behavior on book buying with this series but I don't think I can help myself. I really wish this was one that was available for loan on kindle!

message 807: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Heidi I haven't read the MI series either and don't really plan to!

Anyone have any book ideas for May. The theme is mothers so it can be a book about a girl with issues with her mother, a girl struggling without a mother, or even a girl with a great mother daughter relationship. If no one gives me any ideas I have no problem being bossy and just telling everyone to read for May (jk - or am I?) :)

p.s. I already suggested Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta and The Agony of Alice (Alice, #1) by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor .

message 812: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I have one I just read. I guess it is YA? I suppose I'll head over there and suggest it anyways. :)

message 813: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't have any suggestions for May. If I can think of one, I'll post it on there.

I just started Hush Money (Talent Chronicles #1) by Susan Bischoff . I bought it but since it was only 99 cents, I don't think it counts. ;)

She always does that. Baahhhh.
Yessss. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to Clockwork Prince more than City of Lost Souls ...

Really? I know a ton of people who hate them.
I know they are pretty corny, but I find them exciting and funny and I like the characters (*cough* except Clary *cough*).

I just finished up Demonglass - love this series btw, and am going to start on A Little Wanting Song. I am listening to Artemis Fowl and The Woman Who Rides Like a Man on audiobook.

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Soulless was best on audiobook - I don't think I would have loved it as much without that narrator. She rocks. I skipped Murder is Binding because ladies in my cozy group were mixed about it (I think the dislike group didn't like the protagonist). Let me know what you think when you are done Bluemoon!

Heidi, you aren't alone. I feel compelled to finish City of Glass, but I'm pretty sure that's as far as I'm going to make it. Clare hasn't been very impressive but I gotta see how this one plays out.

message 820: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) TMI fan alert.
I read the first three in four days and waited painstakingly for the prequel series to start and CoFA to be released (which I've already finished).
@Brittany: If you got that far, you definitely should finish it. It's worth it.

But anyway; right now I'm re-reading City of Glass; reading The Fellowship of the Ring, and rereading The Book of Mormon. Religious nerd am I.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 148 comments Thalia, you should read my City of Ashes review and tell me if I'm correct in any of my predictions (although not which ones) for City of Glass

message 822: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) I don't think I can, unless you accept my request. But I'd be glad to!
It's really the first series I haven't been able to pick a favorite out of because I adore them all so much, for such different reasons!

Hooraaay fellow obsessive TMI fan! :D
Gaaahhh did CoFA have an evil ending or what? I am dying to know what happens! Although, I'm more excited for Clockwork Prince I think––since TMI already kinda ended and the new books feel like extra stuff to me. :]

Yay for Bloodfever! Hope you love it!

I just finished Hush Money (Talent Chronicles #1) by Susan Bischoff which I liked and am excited to read the next in the series when it comes out. I am enjoying all the indie authors out there right now.

Started Falling From Grace (Grace, #1) by S.L. Naeole this morning. Another indie author. :)

I tried that awhile back, but couldn't get into it. Now that I read and loved her Ruby series I plan to go back and give it another go. Let me know if it is worth it.

I enjoyed The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks very much, and read it before the Ruby series. I have her Fly on the Wall How One Girl Saw Everything by E. Lockhart on my shelf right now.
