What are you currently reading?
Yay I'm glad you loved Chaos Walking, Jenny! :D And The Dream Thieves as well ... I'm about to read the third one in that series. So excited! *bites nails*
I am always happy to find a new Chaos lover. It has ruined me for a lot of other books though. Damn you Patrick Ness!

I'm in the middle of it on audio too, Heidi! :)

Hmm, I haven't heard of London Calling, although I had to read something else by Edward Bloor for English class in middle school and didn't like it. But I haven't tried anything else by him. I plan to try An Abundance of Katherines at some point, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Now I'm reading

Now I'm reading

The Archived is on my TBR and I'm dying to get Blue Lily, Lily Blue! I'm with you, I didn't like Dream Thieves as much as Raven Boys -- it took me 2 weeks to get through DT and it was like pulling teeth sometimes even though the story was good.
Tanya I skipped the Abundance of Katherines because it has so many mixed reviews. I know it is one of his earlier works so this might explain the reviews. Let me know if you like it.

Imagine a place where the dead rest on shelves like books.
Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures that only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.
Da first brought Mackenzie Bishop here four years ago, when she was twelve years old, frightened but determined to prove herself. Now Da is dead, and Mac has grown into what she once was, a ruthless Keeper, tasked with stopping often—violent Histories from waking up and getting out. Because of her job, she lies to the people she loves, and she knows fear for what it is: a useful tool for staying alive.
Being a Keeper isn’t just dangerous—it’s a constant reminder of those Mac has lost. Da’s death was hard enough, but now her little brother is gone too. Mac starts to wonder about the boundary between living and dying, sleeping and waking. In the Archive, the dead must never be disturbed. And yet, someone is deliberately altering Histories, erasing essential chapters. Unless Mac can piece together what remains, the Archive itself might crumble and fall.
In this haunting, richly imagined novel, Victoria Schwab reveals the thin lines between past and present, love and pain, trust and deceit, unbearable loss and hard-won redemption.
...
I am awful at summaries, but heard great things about the archived so here you go.

@B.B. and Ashley - Huh, I loved The Dream Thieves, possibly even more than The Raven Boys. I'm reading Blue Lily, Lily Blue right now and loving it so far. Not sure how much I like it compared to the first two yet, though ... I think I'll have to wait to the end to pass judgment on that. But over all it's a fantastic series (so far, anyway)!

I think my favorite of Maggie's books is Scorpio Races -- the whole deal with the ley line confused me at first when I picked up Raven Boys, but it's definitely a great series!
I love Scorpio Races too, but the Raven Cycle books are my favorite of hers. Yeah the ley line thing is a bit confusing, although I feel like it made more sense to me when I re-read the first one. :P
I was also confused by the lay line thing! I am nearly done with UnSouled
and super excited to see how this all ends in the last book!

I have not read any of the books you mentioned Jen. Gosh there are so many YA books out there it gets overwhelming sometimes.
Becky I despise love triangles!!
Becky I despise love triangles!!
I am about 2 hours into the audio of the monthly read Rebel Belle and like it so far but the protagonist is not endearing herself to me yet. I think that is the point though so I am going with it!

I should be finishing up

I'm about halfway through Maze Runner and it just feels like a supremely confusing book all around. Now that I'm reading it I can't see a reason for all the hype.
Ashley I was not a fan of Maze Runner. I thought it was overrated. Look at my review for more details. I forgot about the book 5 minutes after I read it!
I don't really understand the hype about The Maze Runner, either. I liked it okay but it had a lot of flaws and plot twists that didn't make any sense, and the writing was pretty awful. Then I hated the second book, so I gave up on the series. :-/
Good to know Brigid! I think my problem with some books is that I have read so many brilliant books that I constantly make comparisons when reading what I consider the more subpar book. In the case of Maze Runner I had already read Unwind and I know they are not exactly the same premise but it is about a group of teens fighting back from some adult run super society and Unwind is far superior IMO. I think Goodreads has spoiled me because I have found so many awesome reads based on GR friends recommendations that I find the average books lacking. I really wonder what books I would have missed out on had I not joined this site.

Hear hear!!
At the time I read the first one I don't think I'd read very many dystopia books yet, so I didn't have much to compare it to. But once I got around to reading the second one I'd read some better dystopias so it didn't seem as good anymore. :P
Yeah I was the opposite Brigid. I had read Unwind and Chaos then I read it. Makes a big difference IMO.

Doesn't Amy Rubinate do that one? Can't stand her as a narrator. She & Justine Eyre drive me right up a wall. Elizabeth Louise is not as bad but close.
Yes it is Amy narrating. I am not a big fan of her either but as she narrates all of the Blue Harron series by one of the only romance authors I read Kristan HigginsI have gotten used to her. I agree she is not very good. She gets a ton of jobs for some reason though. She will never come close to the love I feel for Jenna Lamia!
Ha! I just checked the other narrators you mentioned and Justine Eyre narrated one of Kristan Higgins other books and I agree she is also annoying! Kristan really needs to pick better narrators. I have not heard anything by the E. Louise. It just reminds me that a narrator can make or break a book sometimes!
