Jenny you are a reading machine! I can't even hope to keep up with you :)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments LOL not lately! well, this last week maybe a little...I've been in more of a reading mood, so that's good!

Finished Through the Zombie Glass (White Rabbit Chronicles, #2) by Gena Showalter and I liked it--great action, and a fun read--but OMG it was a bit racy! Really pushing the boundaries of YA as far as sex is concerned!

Jen (jenwesner) Just picked up Wildefire (Wildefire, #1) by Karsten Knight . Should be interesting.

Karen’s Library | 574 comments Heidi, I'm slowly but surely getting through Timebound (The Chronos Files, #1) by Rysa Walker on audio. I love Katherine's "voice". But Trey and Connor? Kiernan was pretty good. Overall I like the narrator.

Thanks for the update Karen. I thought the narrators voice was a little odd at times. She would sounds normal for awhile and then her cadence would change - especially at the end of words and I have no other way of explaining it but she sounded like she was Native American if that makes sense to you?? I don't know how to explain it. Overall I liked the book enough to just go with her weird pronunciations. It was just odd at times. Let me know if you hear the same thing I did...

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I just finished A Wrinkle in Time (A Wrinkle in Time Quintet, #1) by Madeleine L'Engle and just started Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas . Now that I see that there are supposed to be at least 6 books in the series, though, I may wait to read the second book. I'm just not a patient person.

I know it's not YA...but I'm so deep in the weeds, I'm kind of just proud to be reading a new book atm :).

Going to watch the movie after I finish with the book :) I LOVED Letters to Juliet, that is one of my favorite movies ever! They just don't make movies like that anymore, its either dark romance, or R Rated romance, or slapstick funny. What happened to the true chick flick, lovely and sweet???

was French Kiss the one with Kevin Kline? loved that one!

@Jenny yeah my only issue with LtJ was that I couldn't feel the chemistry between Amanda Seyfried and the new boy she wound up with -- but Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero were ADORABLE <3

message 7325: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Taber | 506 comments yes, the Kevin Kline one :). I think it's so adorable :)

message 7326: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments Notting Hill is one of my favorite romantic comedies...Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts are just amazing together in that one! Its still sweet and lovely, but with a lot of British humor (which I love!) And OF COURSE, Sleepless in Seattle--so cute and quirky! That is one that I have to drop everything and watch if its on TV!

message 7327: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie ugh Hugh Grant <3 love that man. Love Actually is easily one of my favorites

Started Rosebush by Michele Jaffe and this is one really good mystery! I'm totally drawn in by it!

I loved DOSB! No one compares to Laini Taylor when it comes to drop-dead-gorgeous prose. I have yet to read the rest of the series, but I should get around to the sequel sometime in the next month :)

I really liked the first half of DOS&B but was lost for the second half. I know a lot of others loved it though. It might just be as simple as not being the genre for me.

this is actually more accurate than my own post lol. the latter 3rd of the book was interesting and still well-written but still felt like it could have been done better. idk we'll see what happens when I read DoB&S

The first half has been promising, but I won't judge until I've finished it. I've never read anything by Laini Taylor before, but her writing style really appeals to me.

Glad I am not alone in my thoughts on the second half of the book :) The prose was beautiful as you mentioned.

I'll be watching for your review! Most of the reviewers I follow hated it (with one exception, who gave it a 5-star), so I've been really on the fence. The synopsis looks so good though!

I felt the same way ... it had promising world-building but became a pretty typical paranormal romance I think. I read the second one and found it really confusing and it couldn't really keep my interest ... so I don't think I'll read the third one.
