It didn't occur to me until last year I had never read old yeller. So I bought it for 50 cents and its been sitting on my shelf. Since sometimes getting back into reading (which puts me in a much better mood and helps so much with relaxing etc) means shorter books Old Yeller is great, should be a quick read.
I already feel a lot mor relaxed about life events. Its amazing how much reading takes away my anxiety and how much I stress about it sometimes.
How was Just Ella? I heard mixed reviews for it. I'm glad that reading is helping your anxiety. And I've never read Old Yeller either.
Do you like other books by Margaret Peterson Haddix?I enjoyed it, I could see where people wouldn't because it was a huge twist on a popular fairy tale.
Just finished Stargirl, finished Old Yeller.

I've read two other books of Haddix's and thought that they were OK. I wasn't glued to them but enjoyed them overall. I also liked the fact that they weren't extremely intense.
As far as her stand alone books, I think Just Ella is my favorite thus far. I have only read 2 others though. I have read most of the shadow children series when i was a lot younger and have been trying to re-read them so I can read the books I didn't read when I was younger. I really enjoy them and I have heard great things on the missing series.I have heard a lot of good things about some of the newer books though as well.

As with most books, I like some aspects of it (the creativity!) but not other aspects. It'll probably be the only one I read in the series.

I was starting to read Scarlet and as she talk about the event that happened in the royal ball, I realized I had no clue what she was talking about. I need to refresh my memory.
ahh! So good! Just finished it. I need to get the 2nd and 3rd books!!

. I started on audio but ended up buying on my Nook so plan to switch to ebook as soon as I can find time to read again. I was doing a lot of driving to meetings so the audio was perfect for that, but I think I'm in too much of a hurry to finish which is why I'm switching to ebook. ;-D

It's a mix of fantasy, dystopian, sci-fi and apocalyptic. Altered is the second book.Adalice has the ability to weave time with matter and, honestly, a lot of it was above my head. Hahahaha... But it is good if you can just decide that you don't have to understand the science of it all.

Oh, don't worry, David, it builds slowly, but it builds all the way through to the end...as a writer, I really think you'll love this one!!

I planned on reading Scarlet, but as I started listening to it I realized I have no clue what happened in the previous book. So I grabbed it up and re-read it. Good thing too since I actually like it better than when I listened to it previously. So I think I'll just read Scarlet as well.
