I see the YA deal of the day at Amazon is The Thief The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1) by Megan Whalen Turner http://www.amazon.com/Thief-Attolia-M... - I found it to be a very enjoyable read when I read it a few years ago.

Yesterday I finally started:

World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee

Yaaaay! I'm about a third of the way through it and it's good so far!

message 6307: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g Has anyone read The Runaway King? I'm almost halfway through and finding it a lot harder to get into than the first one. Jaron is too arrogant and thinks that he can somehow magically solve the kingdoms problems. If I ignored the second issue, I think I'd enjoy it better. It's a shame as I was really looking forward to reading it.

message 6308: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I loved The Runaway King just as much as The False Prince. Yes, he is somewhat arrogant, but that's his personality, and comes somewhat from his princly upbringing I'm sure!

I read it and enjoyed it. I can see where you are coming from because during the entire first book the reader thought he was a different person and now we know who he is so the second books portrayals him differently.

Yep, agreed! I did like him slightly better when I didn't know who was...but still enjoyed the second book a lot :)

message 6311: by Becky (new)

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I enjoyed The Runaway King but not as much as the first book. I still thought it was a great book, though, and enjoyed the last 1/3 of it the most. So please hang in there.

Hey guys, the Kindle edition of The Fault in Our Stars is on sale today for $2.99: Link!

message 6313: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g I did manage to finish The Runaway King and the last third was better than the rest of the book. I did enjoy it but I do think the first was better. I will read the last book as I want to know how the series conclude.

I finished:

World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee

It was really good, but I felt like it was cut off too soon ... I wish it had been a bit longer. Ah well.

Now I've started:

Winger by Andrew Smith

Which is really good so far!

I just finished 'The Rise of Nine' by Pittacus Lore. This whole series is meh but I've started it so I just want to finish it and the books are growing better as the series progresses but I wouldn't say I love it.

Next I'm reading Anna Dressed in Blood which I've heard really good things about!

@Heidi - I think you will like Winger! I'm really enjoying it. :)

@David - Seriously! It was such a long wait and then it was so short. It was just getting to the good stuff and then it just kind of ended randomly. *Sigh* Too bad. I did like it, but I wish it had been like 100 pages longer. :P

@Seth - Huh, well so far I wasn't expecting a twist but now I will be looking out for one, haha. XD

Amreen | 33 comments So I just finished Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake ... I loved it. Really, really, good. I'm dying *no pun intended* to get my hands on the sequel Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake

Now I'm reading The Way We Fall (Fallen World, #1) by Megan Crewe which I haven't really heard anyone talk about much. Has anyone read it?

I'm also going to be starting my re-read of Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman soon, really excited! I really need to catch up with this series.

Went to Catching Fire at the theater today and I actually thought it was better than the book. I also liked it more than the first movie. IMO Jennifer L. and Josh H. were both perfectly cast. Next up I hope to watch the Book Thief movie.

I liked it better than the first movie, too, but not as much as the book. I really LOVED that book! But I thought it was a really well done adaptation, one of the best book-to-movies ever!!

Finished:

Winger by Andrew Smith

I really liked it! The ending was definitely ... not what I expected, and I kind of wish it had been a little longer. But ah well, it was still really good.

I also started:

Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth

Finally ... I'm so behind on all the things I need to read, haha. I wasn't a big fan of the second book; this one is okay so far.

Yay, I love the Monstrumologist! As for the Divergent series ... yeah, I liked the first book at the time I read it, but the second book was kind of annoying in a lot of ways, so I think I would feel differently about the first book if I read it again now. So, I'd say if you didn't like the first book it's not really worth continuing. I think they're all right, enough that I'm just curious to see what happens. But, they're not amazing.

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments Finished The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus, #4) by Rick Riordan . Was not my favorite in the series. I think doing it from 7 different characters POV's was a bit much for me.

Almost done with Cinder & working on Froi of the Exiles.
