I forgot all about Never Fade, need to get that read soon!

Spent all day reading and just finished it! Still deciding what to rate it. I didn't love it nearly as much as the first two, but I felt its a strong book. The ending was heartbreaking.

Yeah I don't love the Divergent series either. I've never given it more than 3 stars. Hunger Games was much better by comparison. I still want to see how the series ends though.

I didn't hate the first book - it was just disappointing to me so I am not taking too much pleasure in the bad reviews (as I did with say Breaking Dawn). The reviews on Amazon were fun to read though because some people were really ticked off.

I am so unbelievably tempted to make a joke about threatening you (David) to finish your next book - but honestly, it's just not funny when people make any kinds of threats to an author. I constantly escape into books - but I know there are people out there for whom a book is their reality. Thankfully, these days we have medication, stress centers, and loved ones who pay attention and know signs - and can stop violent behaviour before it starts. I think the same is true for people who become unbalanced by watching a tv series or following a celebrity.

And now all I can think of are jokes about all of us who watch too much tv! LOL!

Seriously thought, when you think of all the ways we can hurt and kill people in a fictional sense, it's no wonder it sometimes translates to reality in the mind of an unstable person. I admire those authors who "take the show on the road" and bravely face the crazies. Granted, most of us are fine - but that fangirl thing has the potential to get really out of control.

Finished reading and I loved it!!! Wonderful contemporary! I liked Eleanor & Park a little better, but this one was awesome--it was very NA, except for no graphic sex. In fact, the relationships did not have a lot to do with sex, it was more emotional...Rainbow Rowell is a genius at writing these kinds of things!!

Also just finished This series gets better with each book!

I am on the last part of the audiobook of Fangirl and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it too Jenny. I don't want it to end! I agree. Rainbow is becoming one of my favorite authors. I love YA authors who can take just real everyday life and make it so emotional, funny, and interesting -- just like my fav Melina Marchetta

I loved Eleanor & Park on audio -- the narrator who does Park's voice is great. The same female is narrating Fangirl and she is also excellent. Speaking of age...her books make me feel young again

Haha yes. Age is just a number. I like that I look the same age as my sister who is 4 years younger than me but going into the teaching profession I hope I don't get loads of frown lines!

Finally finished . I think I'd been snoring through it for two weeks now. I tried desperately to enjoy it but the magic in the first one (which I enjoyed immensely) just wasn't there this time around for me. *Sigh*. Nonetheless, I know a lot of my friends loved it and I don't regret picking it up.

But yeah, it's pretty terrible. At least they changed their minds ... still, they basically canceled his contract and didn't even tell him until after the third book was published, and then they got angry with him when his fans started writing them letters demanding they publish the fourth one. *Headsmack*

The past little while, my reading has been all over in terms of genres:

- this is the autobiography of President Obama's sister; I recently interviewed her for my radio show - a very cool lady and a fascinating story about the extended Obama family and Kenya.

- a lovely, moderately dystopian (ie not depressing) story with great character development and good conversations. I think it's free on Kindle right now. Worth picking up.

- I really like this author a lot, and he did a solidly good job on this detective story.

- the grand finale of both the Dwellers series and the Country series. Good but not my favourite of the lot (I really liked the Country series best).

, and - all from the Vampire for Hire series. Not your typical vampire story at all (and I mean that in a very good way); the main character is awesome - a soccer mom, private detective and vampire.

- this is a holistic health approach geared for mothers - very good, well written with easily applicable suggestions.

I've heard nothing but good things about Fangirl so I'm excited about it! And yeah, I really liked the first two Benny Imura books ... The third and fourth ones I still liked but just not nearly as much. Yay, Final Descent! I'm loving it so far, but that's no surprise I guess. XD

Not YA but classic. found a lot of free but also questionable YA books. have to sort through those. Read Dead End by Barry Friedman, free and worth the read in my opinion.
