I just finished Fire & Ash a few minutes ago and I agree about your spoiler. It was a strange way to go - he should put what Nix said at the beginning of the book if he wanted the ending the way it went. It was strangely placed in the book IMO. Anywho I really enjoyed the book so I will overlook that small issue. We of course got our fair share of the whole "warrior smart" again but it wasn't as much in this book to get annoying as it was in some of the other books.

I loved the ending to BOTH Requiem and the Clockwork Princess...don't know what point I was trying to make there, but yeah. Anyways, I'm in for Allegiant, although I won't have my copy until Thursday--and Lola wanted to join us and I think she has to wait a few days for her copy, too. Also in for Champion, super excited for that one as well!
Oh, the third book was the WORST with Warrior Smart. And if I'm being honest, at the end when they all put their hands in and said it I cried haha. I also cried at "Tomsland". Ridiculous, I know. I just really loved Tom!

Jenny, I'm glad to hear that you liked the ending to Requiem. All this negativity was making me think I maybe shouldn't read it. But I just love the series, so I don't know if that would have happened either way haha.

bwahahaha - yeah that end part was the cheesiest! It reminded me of a bad sports movie where they all pull together as a team at the end!

Does anyone here watch Walking Dead? Because there was a CRAZY COOL WD reference at the end of Fire & Ash:"Quick-Draw Carl, who still wore the broad-brimmed brown hat of his legendary dad, Sheriff Rick."
AAAAHHHHH!
@Seth- Walking Dead reference...LOVED it!! Yes, love that show and definitely noticed it! And I'll be curious to hear what you think about the ending to Requiem, Jenny, Karen, and I all thought it was awesome, but most people didn't lol!@Heidi- Ha! Warrior smart bothered me like a rusty cheese grater on dry skin!
@Jenny- Benny's speeches, lol!!! Yeah, a bit random and awkward!
@Jen- Hehe, we're just ganging up on you about the ending to Requiem now! Sorry about that, you're in the majority so we have to fight for it! And regarding Clockwork Princess, I LOVED the book and the ending was amazing, just a little too (view spoiler) But yes, we can definitely agree on buddy reads of Champion and Allegiant! And of course, we love you too, my friend, and reading is WAY more fun with you included!!!
Jenny wrote: "I loved the ending to BOTH Requiem and the Clockwork Princess...don't know what point I was trying to make there, but yeah. Anyways, I'm in for Allegiant, although I won't have my copy until Thurs..."My copy is on order as well. Not sure when it will get here from Amazon.
I loved loved loved the ending of Clockwork Princess.
And heck yes, it's a given that we must continue buddy reads of any series we've read together! ;-P

bwahahaha cheese grater! I thought of you every time I read that phrase David!

Lol!! I tried to pretend it wasn't there, but that would only make me stare at the two words harder ;)
Reading The Cuckoos Calling by Robert Galbraith aka JK Rowling. Hmm don't seem to be reading much YA at the moment. I'll have to fix that. Planning on reading Alliegent next.
I'm afraid I'm also not reading much YA at the moment. I intend to start The Book Thief soon, but I need to get beck into running, since I signed up for a 15k and am on the wait list for a half-marathon, so I'm reading Train Like A Mother currently. Anyone else here a runner?
David wrote: "I'm reading Unsouled!!! Yes!!"I just started Unwind, about a third of the way in and loving it so far! :)

YES! Oh this series is so good, the third book is awesome so far!
Heidi, I haven't started reading it yet. My TBR pile is so long! Is it good enough to move to the top?

Are you a mystery fan?? I love mysteries so I really like it but if you are not really into mysteries I would think you could hold off a bit. It is probably at 4 stars for me so far.

I recommend the audiobook of it too btw :)

I do like mysteries, but I haven't met one that isn't predictable yet (I can usually figure it out in the first few chapters), so if it's only a 4-star, I'll definitely not bump it to the top. I do love JKR's style, though, so I'll definitely be reading it at some point.
Thanks for the input. That helped a lot!

Great! Thanks :). Who reads it?
Well 4 stars from me is pretty good. I think I have less than 10 five star books total. I'm not sure who the narrator is but he is British and does a great job with all the accents.
Just started
. It's been awhile since I read the previous books so it's taking a little time to remember who everyone is. I wish I had thought to do some rereads. Still, it looks to be a fun and interesting read.
Loved Fyre, I think it wrapped up the series nicely! You might be able to find a cheat sheet of characters somewhere online!

Seth, it's sooooooo good!
Just started reading Anna Dressed in Blood. I am about four chapters in, and love it so far. Such a damn pretty book with its gorgeous cover and its red type... Can all books just be this appealing to look at? Please?
Seth wrote: "David wrote: "I'm reading Unsouled!!! Yes!!"I WANT THAT BOOK. SO FREAKIN BADLY!"
Oh you'll love it Seth!
Not to beat a dead horse, but I was under the impression that you (Karen and David) thought the ending of
was fine until the epilogue, and that's what you didn't like. Sparkles and rainbows maybe - oh, but dazzling ones! And now the horse is dead, dead, dead. Perhaps we should write a Requiem. ; )
I'm already reading iffy reviews of
. Here we go again with hype - I hope this doesn't do to her what Requiem did to Oliver!Has anyone read
? I'm not sure it's classified as YA but it's definitely a dystopian/zombie book. Looks like it has some good possibilities. I really like Jamie McGuire.I still haven't gotten to
yet - my library doesn't have it on audio and it's really frustrating! Guess I'll either have to buy it in print or as an e-book - maybe after Christmas when (hopefully!) my family gets me an iPad mini or a Kindle!
I will be reading Red Hill, Jen, but I don't know when! Might be a few weeks! I've only seen one review, and it wasn't very positive, but again, keeping an open mind! Same with Allegiant! Its so hard when a series is that popular, you just can't make everyone happy, especially in a dystopian world! People build it up in their minds, so they are expecting to be blown away--I can't imagine trying to live up to those expectations!

I waited months to get the sequel of Unwind on audio Jen. I hate when they don't release the audiobook right away!

Hope you like it!
Oh my! I just got done reading like 20 Amazon reviews for that book after someone at David's group mentioned the hate for that book. There is some serious anger going on there!

Gahh I feel like all the books I've been waiting for are all coming out at once and I'm falling behind on everything, a;kd;fjds. Okay, I really need to get my act together and finish Fire & Ash already. Also the second Game of Thrones book.
... But I got distracted and today I read most of:
It's really good. I don't know if any of you guys are fans of the beautiful disasterpiece that is "The Room," but ... if you are, I highly recommend this book. :P

Accck, me too! It's been sitting on my bedside table for like a whole month and I still haven't gotten to it yet––partly out of laziness and also because I'm afraid of how the series will end. XD
@Jen- On the Clockwork Princess epilogue: It's not that I didn't like it (and I LOVED the series as a whole), I just thought it was a little too perfectly tied up. Sometimes things should be a little more dirty and complex, like the real world! But I know why she did it (view spoiler)On Unsouled: Finished!! So freaking good! Love this series and the complexities and everything. So excited Shusterman is coming to my YA group for a Q&A! Ack!!
On Allegiant: Ha Heidi! I knew you'd enjoy watching this series fall apart! I'm at 35% and I completely understand why it's getting not-so-great ratings. The author has deviated what her readers really enjoyed in the first two books. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but it's not really working for me so far.
Resurrecting the dead horse: we all agree that we loved the epilogue on Clockwork Princess. Killing the horse again. Well I have to say that I'm really interested now to read Allegiant! I want to re-read Divergent and Insurgent before I do. I didn't love love love this series anyway, so I feel like I have less of an emotional investment in it. Thank God.
BTW I've been watching Lauren Oliver's YouTube videos - she does a Q&A once a week - and she really is just wonderful. And she does write beautifully. But I don't think I'll like Panic, so I'll likely skip it. I'm still pretty skittish when it comes to her books.
I've picked up
- just started it, but it sounds promising so far. Just finished
which was absolutely amazing. I want to stay with those characters for a long time. Heartbreak there at the end, but really (REALLY) good setup for the final one. Go Ruby!

Seriously, both of you. That ending. Yall CRAZY. But I love you anyway. And I know you both took issue with the ending of Clockwork Princess, which I adored. So there you go. We are making the world go round.
You know, I think I'm looking more forward to
None of my books were ever as good until I started reading with all of you! Yall are the best!
