I've done that too many times over the years. Maybe when I've left it long enough I can re-read them again.

I did this a couple of years ago. I read the book, then watched the movie. Then read the next book and then watched the next movie. I did one book/movie a week. It was AWESOME!!!

Thanks for waking us up, Heidi! I was wondering if Goodreads had stopped sending me emails or something! I finished the Inkheart series - The Inkheart Trilogy Inkheart, Inkspell, Inkdeath (Inkworld, #1-3) by Cornelia Funke

While the first book was by far the best, I also quite enjoyed the 3rd book, probably because this past week, I've really needed good, well-written escapism. Nairobi has been a pretty intense place recently (the Westgate terrorist attack is about 10 minutes drive from where I live, and we knew people who were killed in the shooting, so just a BIT close to home!)

That was wild Vered! I'm so sorry for the losses you had from that. I've been reading stories of the survivors. The little brave 4 year old that told off the terrorist!

Caedy Eries (karida) | 26 comments Just finished:
Goddess of the Night (Daughters of the Moon, #1) by Lynne Ewing
Pantomime (Pantomime, #1) by Laura Lam

Now I'm going to be starting:
The Rancher by Kelli Ann Morgan
The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater
The Tapestry by Paul Wigmore

Gonna see how many books I can finish up this month with only 3 days left :D

message 6014: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Thanks guys - we are safe, just recovering!

On a totally other topic: I run a weekly radio show interviewing African artists. This week I'm meeting up with Auma Obama, half sister of President Obama. She lives in Kenya. So I'm just starting her book, an auto biography.

And yes David, Inkheart is a must read!

I was not as in love with Daughter of Smoke & Bone as I thought I would be - I did like the first half a lot more than the second.

I'll be curious what you think of Will Grayson, I had to stop quite early on because of the f-bombs, but it got so many different reviews, I'm curious whether I missed out on something :)

message 6046: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I will probably be reading Will Grayson before the end of the year, so I'll let you know my opinion, too, David!

Karen--are you at the edge of your seat with The Eternity Cure?

Finished More Than This by Patrick Ness and LOVED it, gave it 5 stars! I'm really looking forward to reading The Chaos Walking trilogy now. Everyone kept saying this book didn't even come close to that series, so I know I am missing out!

Started reading The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken and loving it so far!

I am so excited to read More Than This! I bought the audiobook of it but it hasn't been released yet! I may cheat and get the print copy. As David knows, I loved Will Grayson - mostly because of Tiny (who is my hero). I highly recommend he audiobook of it because I think it makes it even better. I am not bothered by swearing most of the time so didn't even remember it until David mentioned it!

I didn't think this one was quite as great as the first one, but the author still does a fantastic job. Sage is such a great character. And now the third book won't be released until Spring. *sigh*
